Ring Tone Question
I am finaly getting a phone that can have custom ring tones... i know way for me to leave the stone age, or just sprint. OK so i have switched to verizon and have a motorlola v265... all i want is this one ring tone... funkytown by lips inc. Now this seems like it would be really easy to get, but this is freaking killing me, i have looked and looked and i can find the ring tone for ever provider but verizon. Anyone know where i could get this, and it would be perferable that it be a polyphonic, but if it isnt no biggie. i know you all will be able to help me out so thanks in advance.

does your phone have the "get it now" feature (usually accessed by pressing the Up arrow on your phone)?
try searching through some of those services and your phone should be able to download that specific ringtone |
HERE is a copy of the song in MIDI form.
Getting it to your phone may be tougher though with Verizon. I am not sure if they have it available on the "Get It Now" servers, but some Verizon phones allow you to transfer ringtones via data cable. Others (like mine) allow you to send the song from your PC to phone via your vzwpics address, but this incurs a fee of $0.25. I believe 5 ringtones can be sent per message. There are also limitations on size and bitrate. If this sounds complicated, it is, kind of. I'd recommend first checking Verizon's "Get It Now" and see if it's there. But you will pay a bit more to download a ringtone "officially" from Verizon, as that is one way they make money... Other providers allow easier transfer of ring tones, wallpapers, etc, to your phone, but Verizon is pretty strict in the sense that they try to have the only "external features" coming from their servers/network. EDIT: HERE is a shortened version that should work for a ringtone. |
I am searching for 2 specific ring tones. So far I am turning up nada for my Motorola T720.
If anybody could help I would really appreciate it. Here is what I am looking for: 1) the sound of a telephone (normal brass bells sound - not electronic rings) from the typical circa 1975 bell phoneset 2) Chewbacca's yell. My provider is Rogers AT&T |
If you have an mp3 of the sound you want to be your ringtone, you could try a program like Xingtone. It costs money, but it's better than buying ringtones.
You could also try this http://www.mobiledia.com/forum/topic20482.html. It's more work, but nearly free. |
the420star: does your phone play mp3's? my dad's wimpy phone plays mp3's and it's pretty old and chincy. let me know if it does and i'll get it for you.
Janey: does your service allow for downloading of media and storing on your phone? mms? i'm in the states so i'm not sure about Rogers AT&T, but if you can, i may be able to help you. |
