Is it possible to send HTML (graphics, etc.) emails via GMail?
Is Gmail strictly a plain text email sending web email client, or is there a way to send HTML rich emails?
I know it allows users to receive and view (via "Display External Pic" link) HTML rich emails, but I'm curious if there is a way to send them as well? Thanks!

It does have a pop3 option - so you could send using an external mail client. I don't see any way of formatting via the web, and putting codes in the message does not work.

I asked Gmail this very same question a few months back, here's the response...

I wonder if they have any plans to include HTML rich sending in the future, or if they intent to keep it simple? Simple seems to be their style, so it wouldn't surprise me if they stay strictly plain-text, but I wonder if they intend to implement HTML sends after their service leaves the beta stage..
