windows xp WMI problem
i'm running xp professional and for some reason the WMI won't run. each time i try to start the program i get an "error 1068: the dependancy service or group failed to start". i've been searching the internet for 3 hours trying to find a fix for this. can anyone shed some light on this?

1068 is a catchall just meaning that one of the services that WMI was not already started or available etc, so you havw to find out which service that is and if its disabled or such. try looking in the event viewer for related msgs.

If we are talking about the same WMI, Windows Management Instumentation, it depends on the Event Log and the Remote Procedure Call.
You can check your services by going into control panel, administrative tools, services. |
i checked the services, the WMI isn't running. when i go to the dependencies tab i get the same error, except instead of error 1068, i get win 32: with the same messege.

ok never mind, i restarted both those programs, and the WMI started up. still no dependencies but hopefully restarting will fix something. thank you much.
