Registry Editor
do any of you have a program that can clearly edit the registry (and preferably, make a back-up copy first?) that you'd reccomend? I've heard of a few, but I've never wanted to take a chance on something like that blindly.

RegSupreme Pro. I use it mainly for its registry cleaner, but it can used for editing.

regedit is all i ever needed.
