Bootdisk necessary when reformatting C drive?

Do I need to make a boot disk when I am reformatting C drive and reinstalling Windows XP? Or is the Windows XP cd sufficient?

The Windows XP install CD should let you format the drive.

Yep. Boot from CD, you'll be prompted to format the drive.

Make sure to make D: drive the first boot in BIOS! After the CD boots, format the hard drive using NTFS file format. FAT32 won't work with Windows XP.

NTFS the preferred file system for encryption and security, but it is not required.

Is NTFS also more efficient at storing data? Like NTFS > FAT32 > FAT

Hey. so I was right! And I'm sure there's a perfectly good explaination, but 8.3 char file name? It just sounds funny.
