Starting a small buisness
I am thinking about starting a small buisness in the town I live in building and repairing computers.
Anyone have advice on what types of services to offer? Warrantys, tech support, ect.... I basically just enjoy fiddling with computers so I am not trying to make a million dollars or anything, but there are very few computer shops around. The closest one is like 30 minutes away and they are always swamped with people comming in with tech problems. What are some good ways to advertise? I am full of questions so any advice would be great.

There have been threads on this before...
Is this more a hobby or a business? I'd recommend reading a book about starting a business - one of the Dummies guides will probably be good enough. If you're truly committed to the business, develop a business plan and set your goals. Identifying your services and prices is easy - look at what your competition is doing. Of greatest importance is what differentiates you from the competition? Thirty minutes closer is an advantage, but not a point of differentiation. You should also consider if the time you'll be spending makes sense for the money you'll be earning. There's nothing more dissatisfying than disliking your computer hobby because it's now your job.
