Adding more ram questions, please advise.
I currently have a P4 2.4, with 512mb ram and an Asus P4P800dx motherboard.
I'm not very familiar with setting up things in the bios, but took the recommendations of a friend and overclocked it to 3.0ghz with no problems for the past several months. Now I'm looking to add another 512mb of ram and I'd like to know if I need to change any settings in my bios to accomodate the new ram. First of all, the ram I currently have is the Kingston KVR400X64C3/512 CAS 2.5v. Should I look to buy the exact same type of ram? These are the settings I have right now in my bios; CPU ext freq. 250 DRAM freq. 320 everything else is set to auto DRAM CAS# 2 RAS 3 RAS to CAS 3 Precharge delay 7 Burst length 8 the rest are set to auto I have no idea what all these settings do, so any advice on how I should have these set up with the new ram will be greatly appreciated. |

No, you shouldnt need to change anything. Any ram of the same type should be fine, unless that motherboard runs dual channel, in which case, yes, you should get the same stick.
