Help burning large music file
I have a file, 250 kb's, which I can play all of on my computer, using Media Player. The file is a compilation of several albums. When I attempt to record this, either as cda or mp3, only the first album is recognized.I'm using XP home and Nero 5.5. The file size equals over 3 hours of music, but I can only get 33 mins. to record. Thanks in advance.

what are you using to record? and by record do you mean burn? and is your first album in the compilation only 33 minutes?
|
By record I mean burn, I'm using Nero Express, but I also tried the pre-packaged software that came from H-P with the same results, and you're exactly right-- the first album is 33 minutes.

I would guess that the source of the problem might lie in how the compilation was made in the first place.
what is the file type? mp3? wmv? also, are you trying to burn the compilation so as to be playable in a stand-alone cd player? if so, remember that you are trying to burn 3 hours worth of music onto a media that is only capable of holdin 74-80 mins (standard cds) or up to 99 mins (870 mb cd, very hard to find). that may also be part of the problem. my suggestion would be to burn the file as a data cd. no, you wont be able to play it in a stand-alone cd player, but at least you will have a backup of it. also, 250 KILObytes? or MEGAbytes? |
Problem solved. What I actually wanted to accomplish was to take the one large mp3 file and store it in a manner that would allow me to break it up into the individual songs or albums that could then be burned into separate audio cda discs.Nero 6.0 demo has a wav editor that will automatically insert breaks into gaps of varying lengths, creating many separate tracks. This works great on all albumwraps except live recordings, which must still be done manually.
