Email signature
I have set up an email signature for several people I work with that includes text and an image. I have had no problems with this.
However, I have someone who uses gmail and webmail (outlook web express) and while the signature text works fine, I have yet to find a way to include the image to render correctly. I'm wondering at this point - is this possible? If so, how the heck do I make it work properly?? |

Yes Shauk is right - it's not your fault, it's their fault. Their email is blocking the image, there's nothing you can do. They must configure their own client to display the image.

yes, and I don't want your image clogging up my inbox. :P
text is versatile and lightweight, if I exchange emails with you over and over your sig comes over and over. that's potentially 100s of times for absolutely no reason. IMO sigs had their time, now I include it when it's appropriate. Otherwise, it's a waste of someone's inbox resources.

My work email is set up to host the image and all we include in the sig is a pointer to the image on our server - if you have load images off you get rexxed, and if we exchange 4,000 emails, you still only have no images in your archive. Minimum footprint, maximum impact, highly portable.

Daniel,
This sounds like something I'd like to do - it's important due to the nature of the business to have the image, but I too hate having it thrown back and forth a million times over with coworkers and the like. While we used to host our own email on our own server, that's no longer the case. I assume I would need to discuss this option with the company who hosts our email (the work email, not gmail) to get this set up? |

All I know is that there are lot of people who like their emails to be plain text. Many have html disabled in their inbox, so I personally would design my emails accordingly. just my 2c.
