Week #16
 

Six players are tied after one game! (I guess everyone else shoud write off their weekend.) Happy Holidays all.

After the festive Saturday games, crfpilot, ironchef82 and steelerz have picked all three games correctly. One player has picked none correct. Everyone else is in between.

I like being in between.

I think I'm the player that picked NONE correct, I think I'm going to get every game wrong this week, HOW SAD and PATHETIC!!!

After the day games on Sunday, two players are tied with 12 points. Giant Hamburger and steelerz are tied in first place. Four other players are still in the hunt. Only fantasma and ironchef82 still have a potential of tying these two, depending on the late Sunday game and the Monday night game. More to follow on Monday.

After the late Sunday game, Giant Hamburger and steelerz are in the lead with 13 points. They both picked the TO-less Eagles tonight. There are three players with 12 points, but only ironchef82 picked the Rams to win in that group. So here are the possibilities:

If the Eagles win
With 42 or less total points - Giant Hamburger
With 43 or more points - steelerz

If the Rams win
With 42 or less point - Giant Hamburger
With 42 to 48 points - steelerz
With 49 or more points - ironchef82

In the TFP playoff race, five more players have been eliminated from playoff contention and djtestudo, Giant Hamburger, steelerz, ironchef82, maximusveritas and archer2371 have already secured a spot in the playoffs, regardless of their week 17 picks. Mathematically there are 21 players with still a possibility of making the playoffs - however some need help (win all 16 and have everyone in front of them lose all 16).

I'll post the remaining players list later this week.

Here are the current standings:
Playoff scenarios
djtestudo, Giant Hamburger, steelerz, ironchef82, archer2371 and maximusveritas haved already secured a spot in the playoffs.

The following players have a "magic number" to guarantee a playoff spot. The "magic number" refers to the number of wins needed in week 17 to assure that they will not end up in 17th place. This number is based in the current point total of the 17th place player - crfpilot with 138 points. The most points that crfpilot can achieve will be 154 points (if he picks all 16 correct) so that is the total that players need to exceed to assure their spot into the playoffs. That number will decrease depending on next week's picks of not only the 17th place player, but those behind him. The number reflects the total need either in wins of their own and losses by those not yet in the playoffs. Now that I have confused you completely:

The following players need a combination of wins on their own and losses by players ahead of them:

bundy - 18

Again, in order for some players to make the playoffs, they need a combination of wins on their own, and losses by those in front of them. So for bundy to make the playoffs, he needs to win at least two more than crfpilot and four more than cameroncrazy to not have to worry about tiebreakers. Chauncey could skip this week's picks as long as he feels that crfpilot will lose at least 5, bundy 4, and Rdr4evr and radioguy 3.

Bottom line, win as many as you can and don't leave it up to someone else losing to back into the playoffs.

If possible, I will update the standings as games finish next week.
