new stars of the nba?
I grew up watching MJ and the Bulls(from chicago area). It seems like the NBA isnt as good as it used to be. Like watching rivalries such as the Bull and the Knicks or Lakers vs Celtics. The greats like John Stockton, Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, etc that have retired. Now a days, its all about how big your contract is, being in Sportscenter highlights, bling bling type stuff. It just seems like the new young stars in the leauge, dont have the passion and heart like the old school players from back in the day. Are the new stars gonna be able to carry that torch? Which direction is the future of the NBA gonna go? Lately, im not as interested in the NBA like i used to be.....

I feel the same.. I dont think its because the player became worse.. I think its that they all became better.. or they're all at the same level. I think there's a limit to how good you can get at b-ball w/ some athletic ability and practice, unlike Fotball or baseball. Everyone in the NBA's really good... It seems like all the teams are stacked, when almost every team is stacked, sans a few. just my opinion...
Also... Basketball no longer matters till the playoffs...

It would seem that the stacked teams have thrown things slightly out of whack. But if you think about it, it really has only helped the top 4 teams in the league anyways Lakers, Kings, Mavs, and T'Wolves. I have confidence saying that because like in the days of Jordan and the bulls dominating the league from the east, the west will probably field the next 3 championship teams, minimum.
As for the stars of today carrying the league? I think they will do a good job. I think its safe to say that Shaq is the oldest star out there. Players like Pierce, T Mac, Duncan, KG, Kobe, Baron, etc etc all still have a solid block of years left to play. On top of that you have a few early career emerging stars like Jermaine O' Neal, Ron Artest, Larry Hughes, a whole slew of players from the Clippers, Zach Randolph. The Leauge is stacked strong. Then you have rookies like BronBron, Melo, Henrich, Ford... they are all going to be awesome. I'd say over all just stay tuned. This year is going to be a transition. Look out next year when all the stacked teams reevaluate contracts. Look for Kobe to leave L.A. and get his own gig established elsewhere.

Bottom line, the NBA is different than it used to be. To make a long answer short, I grew up watching the Lakers during the early 80's. I have seen the game change dramatically and I have come up with one conclusion. Advancements in technology has provided players (thesedays) with the ability to get better. Therefore, the room for advancement is much greater thesedays, as compared to the 80's and prior to that.
