As long as Clemens is back on the good side, I'm happy.

Well, now I might have to go see the Reds/Astros games, just to watch Petitte and Clemens pitch. I'm just wondering how the Astros will actually do this season now. They'll probably ruin it for the rest of the division, and get eliminated quickly, as usual. :P

As a Yankee fan, this just makes me mad... because, last year, every yankee fan, and almost every ballpark he visited everyone gave him a goodbye cheer. Even in the frikkin World Series, the other team had a standing o for this guy.
He ignores the Yankee fans that have been so nice to him, after parading around his fake farewell tour, and has stabbed the Yankees in the back This would have been surprising news to anyone except that the world hates the Yankees, and everyone thinks this is a good move.. Ugh... Clemens should have quit while he was ahead.. Minute Maid Park is not as friendly as Yankee Stadium, and comon.. why finish your HOF career in "Minute-Maid Park" when you can do it in "Yankee Stadium" ![]() Ugh, and the YAnkees are also the bad guy for letting Pettitte go. his "I got no respect" whining. Believe me, when I say that he got TONS of respect from NY fans, had been my favorite pitcher for the last 5 years. Not to mention the offer the Yankees made to Pettitte. HE was the one hatin on the Yankees. Prolly thought he could make a lot more with money with his 4+ ERA but 20+ wins.

Clemens in the National League?
This won't last very long.

The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

Aww, too bad, a Yankees fan getting upset that they're owner coulden't buy Clemens, boo fuggin hoo. The Yankees shot themselves right in the ass this off season, and I coulden't be happier. Do you realize a left handed pitcher hasen't lost a playoff game in Yankee stadium in 25 years? Letting the 2nd best pitching leftie in the game today, and maybe one of the best post season pitchers ever get away to the NL, well, Yankees depleated themselves.
As for Clemens, that's bad news for me. I'm a Cubbies fan. But Maddux is meeting with Hendry this week, and Pudge is now a prospect of the Cubs as the O's have shut down talks with him. |

If anything Clemens in Houston and the NL means big bucks for teams - Clemens pitching regularly (or at least more often than before in interleague) against players like Sosa, Bonds, Pujols, and against other pitchers (Johnson, Wood, Prior, etc.) will be pretty damn interesting for sure - and he'll be a draw for hell every team IMO.

Aww... a Cubs fan thinks his team won't choke this season, thats admirable.
Seriously, who the hell will the Yankees use as their starting pitchers ? They lose 3 of them so far, and as far as I know (prove me wrong!) haven't signed anybody to fill those spots.

Well, they didn't sign anyone...
They traded for Javier Vasquez from Montreal and Kevin Brown from LA. Of course, they only hav three decent starters now, because after Mussina, they only have Contraras and Lieber. And with the lack of a minor league system, if one (read: Brown) gets hurt, they are s-c-r-e-w-e-d.

The way that man pays for people? Nah, he isn't the reason they don't come. What we need to do is get rid of Hart and let Fuson take over officially. Either way, don't mean to derail your thread. Grats to the 'Stro's on getting the Rocket.

lol.. the sox fans and cubs fan keep dreaming.. If the curse was easy to beat, the sox woulda won in '86.
Contreras isnt bad.. infact he's a very very good 4th starter (albeit a bit pricey) and Lieber's no pushover. We also have a Jorge De Paula from the minors who pitched a few good innings for us last year. besides.. Brown is better now than Clemens is this year, and Vasquez is better this year than Pettitte is. Pettitte had 4+ ERA in the most lefty friendly parks in the league, and Clemens doesnt last long in games.. around 6 ip a game. .. .. .. Arg.. wtf, who am I kidding, I miss Pettitte and Clemens.. ![]() ps = Texas has Chan Ho PArk~~ w00t.. go Korea. (he'll have a rebound yr.. pick him up in fantasy league undrafted ![]()

Clemens can pitch 7 innings constantly if needed provided he's not having a bad day of course - hell i was there when he complete game shut out the Angels this year too.
And the Yankees lost their 3 starters that accounted for what, 630 innings pitched and 53 wins? Thats the worst loss in any rotation since the Marlins after 97 and probably one of the worst all time due to free agency As for being Texas Con-man, hah, who wouldve thought Mets, Sox, and Yankee fans could all agree on a same thing (other than beer prices being too high). |

I said Tom Hicks because he is a UT grad and also a big booster for the University, but has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Mack Brown.
He's happy as long as the games are sold out and we win 10 games a year.
