ESPN.COM's "Insider"...

...can eat my fucking ass!!! seriously...where do those money grubbing cocksuckers get off making more than half of the site a pay site. i know it has been moving in that direction for a while now...but i didnt realize how far it had gotten till i got on about 5 minutes ago and couldnt get into Mel Kipers columns without signing up for and shelling out cash for "Insider"

anyone wanna give up their member number and password so i can read this shit durring lunch today?

pmb145 07-18-2003 06:24 AM

I had it and cancelled it. It wasn't worth it. I was on for NBA stuff. You can find anything thats on Insider on numerous other sites.

Jaiddin 07-18-2003 01:26 PM

yeah, u go to look at any of the college threads by Kiper and u gotta pay for it. WTF. if i wanted to do that, i'd buy yet another season preview mag.

Mondak 07-18-2003 06:34 PM

Well - how dare they try and make money off of a great service. THOSE BASTARDS!

Ok seriously though - how much does it cost? I could never find the price on the site.

Kurant 07-18-2003 07:54 PM

I thnk it's like 29 bucks a year. I know when you sign up for ESPN.con fantasy stuff, it used to be 19 or 29. Plus you had to pay per team, no biggie. But It's pretty cheap.

emphant 07-19-2003 01:30 PM

Monthy, its 5 bucks a month. Sure it sucks they charge, but most of the stuff is really cool and worth it.

The_Dude 07-19-2003 04:03 PM

almost all sports sites do this now.

nascar.com does this and made me pissed.

damn idiots, no way in hell i'm gonna pay to read for 5 mts.

darkmagnus 07-20-2003 05:00 AM

I think it is either 29.95 or 39.95 a year. But it now includes a subscription to ESPN the magazine also.

I still like it.

CNNSI. I left ESPN.com when the site started rendering like shit in Safari and they added those big ass scrolling ads. It hasn't bothered me.

I wouldn't mind paying for a site that offered good content, but after a while, all of those add up. I wish there was like some big group they all joined, and you just signed up there for access to a big chunk of sites.

NOTICE: This weekend is free access to ESPN insider.

I am not affiliated with the site in any way, and I really don't even think its that hot. But for those of you like me that always wondered what is in ESPN Insider, here is your chance.

I remembered this thread, and I thought I'd post it.

CNNSI is great, so is SportingNews.com. ESPN is still my site of choice, but the ads are really beginning to piss me off. And ESPN the Magazine is a waste. Pretty much everything in it (but the damn good photography) is on the site before the mag comes out anyway.

ESPN.com is still my first choice for sports news, but I also usually frequent Sportingnews.com and cbs.sportline.com almost as often. Those damn ads and videos on ESPN do tend to piss me off though.
