Flying solo again

Hey there fellow TFPers. I just recently broke up with my gf of 1 1/2 years 2 weeks ago. I'm completely over her and feel so much better now that I'm single again. I went to this Sex On The Beach party down at Occidental College (in Los Angeles) which is apparently one of Playboy's top 10 parties of the year. Anyways, I had such a great time. I got there a little late (my buddy didn't get back till 11:30) and the party ended at 1. I tried to drink as much alcohol as I could before going out on the dance floor. So I started dancing and this chick came up and started dancing with me. It was 12:30 by this time and I only had 30 mins left to shake it. So we ended up dancing for the rest of the time and we made out and danced till 1. We ended up talking till 4. I had such a great time. It was probably the most fun I've had all school year long. It seems like I have more fun when I'm not partying at my school. I think I just need to get out more often. Now I just wanna go out dancing at clubs and meet new girls. Only thing that sucks is I'm only 20 and I don't turn 21 until late August. I guess I just wanted to comment on my new found happiness and just say how much fun it is being single. Any suggestions on fun places to meet new girls in the Los Angeles/Thousand Oaks area? Any clubs that are particularily good?

Man you need to give me tips on being single. I think I am just so used to being with someone that now being single is totally new...

Could you please post a diary of your single life, so that those of us who are married can live vicariously through you? :)

I agree, being single is 100% fun. I really enjoy dating around and I've got someone to warm my bed if need be.

Good times.

Absolutely! Do you have any idea how long it has been since us married guys were on a dance floor, single, getting hit on by chicks and talking to them til 4 am?!? Nowadays, we are in bed by 9:30 - lights out by 11:00. You carry the torch for us, man. Hold it high!

P.S. Your story would have been better if you had described her more and told us more about the makeout session. If we are going to live vicariously through you, you are going to have to get a lot better at your storytelling! :D

but you married folks have it good too. i'm single, (not trying to thread jack) and i'll tell you how lucky you married/committed/dating/SO-having people have it.

last night, i watched tv til um 4am in my bed, by myself. woke up at around 12:30. made myself some leftover pizza and ate it myself. then i told my empty house 'bye', drove to work singing to myself, by myself. got to work. worked. got off work. made some more leftover pizza for myself. ate it myself. then took a shower by myself. sat in front of the computer by myself typing this. glanced over at my empty bed that i, myself didn't make this afternoon before workl am will go to bed by myself.

maybe if i was more of a club go-er. actually being single ain't half bad. i do as i want -- or maybe that's what i keep telling myself.

cheers!

The above scenario is the same as mine and I'm happy as a clam. I love being able to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. No one to make me get up on my day off and 'do something', tell me to turn down the t.v. if they are sleeping in. I cook what suits my tastes, wear around the house what I please....
I can't see the upside of dating at all.

i agree. I split with my gf last December. Had been going out for 3 years. I think it was a split for the good. Doing everything I have been putting off.

- Going to parties
- Bought myself a sports car
- Going travelling to Thailand and New Zealand later this year
- Joined up with St. John's Abmulance and training to be a first aider
- Got myself really fit in four months. Doing the London Marathon in 16 days time.

OK, I have a lot more free time than I used to. I am still good friends with my ex and we still talk regularly. But I feel I have accomplished more as I feel I am not being held back!

Go learn how to play an instrument.... Take Taekwondo lessons... Take the time to have fun for yourself without having to involve anyone else.

same boat as you brother. Just came off a five an a half year relationship and i'm having a blast. I'd just like to say how many hot blondes with fake breasts there are in Houston. I lived in Austin for 8 years before moving here for law school and I've got to say there are some amazing women in this town, and they're friendly as they can be. Can't say i'm missing having a girlfriend right now.
