Friend's Sister - Help

I went to a friend's (female, lets call her Ax) house for the second time yesterday for her birthday party. This time her sister (attractive, lets call her Bx) was home. She was there, but didn't speak to anyone but Ax and myself. When she did talk me, it was in short spurts, taking advantage of any excuse to talk to me. That plus the way she looked at me suggests to me that she is probably interested in me. I am bad with talking to people that I don't know so although we talked a little, I didn't ask for her e-mail. Odds are I won't see her again until next year (assuming there is another birthday bash and she is there) and I have no other means of communicating to her. Ax doesn't invite people over to her house often so that complicates things.

How can I talk to Bx without making it obvious to Ax that I'm interested in her sister?

Is it appropriate to get involved with a friend's sister? (I don't know how she'd feel about it, but I doubt she would object if we actually started dating)

TIA for anything you have to say.

Generally, it's not a good idea to date someone who is closely related to one of your friends. Although this situation is a bit different than others because your friend is female, I would still just let her go.

And there is no way you are going to be able to get this girls email address from your friend without your friend thinking something is suspicious.

Ask Ax for the email address. Seems like a matter of a calculated risk to me. If you get it on with Bx and things go haywire, it may ruin your friendship with Ax. Decide if it is worth the risk, and if you think it might be, go for it and ask Ax for her email address. She has no reason not to give it to you, unless Bx tells her not to. Which based on your story seems unlikely.

Either way, if you plan on making a move on this girl, I suggest you do it soon.

I'd do it. Actually I would be dumb enough to try to get both of them together at teh same time. But yes go for it.

Assuming there's nothing going on with Ax, go ahead and talk to her about Bx.

The rule is, don't date your guy friends' sisters. Girl friends' (but not girlfriends'!!) sisters are totally fair game. And, if Ax likes you, she'll be eager to help you get together with her sister--a good friend makes a good brother-in-law, after all!

Edited for apostrophe correctness. Darned apostrophes!

Well I'm friends with Ax, but not "good friends". I mean that I talk to her and sometimes I do stuff with her but we aren't like childhood friends or anything like that. She doesn't tell me all her secrets, or come to me first whenever she needs anything. I really don't know how she would react but I'm guessing awkwardly. That is, unless I become better friends with her in the near future. In theory, that could also get me back to her house to see her sister and have a legitimate reason to be there. Hmm, maybe that is the way to go. I really have no reason not to be better friends with her regardless though, because its not like I can have too many good friends. Hmm, thanks for the inspiration.

There is nothing wrong with trying. Just be upfront with both of them that way if it doesn't work, you can't be accused of hiding anything. If my friends didn't go for my sister's friends etc., most of them never would have been married.

If nothing is going on between you and Ax, I dont see why there would be a problem. Unless of course you think that you might want to become more than friends with Ax at some point, or maybe that she wants to be more than friends with you, then there shouldnt be any problems.

Plus, thers a small chance that maybe she brought you to her sister's place because she wants you two to hit it off.
