I think it depends on the kind of relationship you have with your partner. In mine he is absolutely not allowed porn! But then he is denied a lot of things.

You probably have a job. You might even enjoy doing it. Is it wrong to accept money for it? Porn stars are entertainers. They just have sex for others to see.
I did not know that pornography and prostitution are within legal boundaries.

If I am a porn star, well I may enjoying doing it, but I wouldnt what to tell that openly to my parents, children, or prospective in-laws. You think the rest of the people dont have this kind of problem?

To be very explicit, how many of us are ok that our children become porn stars or prostitutes? In such a case can we treat those jobs as the rest of the jobs? No OFFENSE intended.

If we think NO our children shouldnt do porn/prostitution, but using porn/prostitution is ok, I consider that as double standards. I am part of this double standards. I am trying to find what I can do about it.

I sincerely appreciate you for discussing it in first place.

Pornography is legal in the United States as long as you are of legal age. Prostitution is illegal in most of the United States (except Nevada and Rhode Island with lots of limitations).

I was waiting for the "what would you do if your kid was fucking for money?" question and to be honest, I don't know what I'd do. Being one of those who fall under the double standard is possible. I wouldn't look down at someone for being a porn star or doing nude modeling and I most certainly do not consider it any form of evil.

I thought several times before writing that question.

Have I crossed any lines?

Am I talking no sense?

Your post didn't even come quarter way to the line. Don't be afraid to speak your mind. People should be able to handle it.

In case there are females that didn't know this:

Most guys want to fuck any reasonable looking girl/woman that walks by them. The longer it's been since sex, the stronger the urge. Your friends? Guys want to fuck them. Your neighbors? Yep. Your college student grocery clerk? Yep. Sorry but that is the way it is. Men have the urge to have sex very frequently and with lots of women. It's not an emotional need. It may be a psychological need but it is most definitely a biological need (the longer the sperm builds up, the more your body tells you to release it).

Porn takes away these urges and it does it very well.

PS your husbands and boyfriends love you and this has nothing to do with said relationships, it's just the way men work.

^ This sums it up.

Porn also lets us see things that may cause relationship problems in real life if we tried them.

On the point of porn possibly having a detrimental effect on a relationship... that seems valid. I suppose one's taste in women could change through whatever tendencies begin developing in watching porn. Say, the porn viewer begins to increasingly watch "thick asian" porn when their partner is a thin woman of German/Irish descent; eventually the sexual attraction may become less and less mutual.

This is one thing that worries me sometimes. I usually don't mind porn, and don't have a problem with my SO watching it. Sometimes I look at the porn he watches and think, these girls aren't like me.

It's weird cause you also described me "a thin woman of German/Irish descent"

As with many other people on this topic, i agree its somewhat biological. There are huge urges for sexual satisfaction for men. After all, thats the whole point of wet dreams, its your body literally 'venting' build up! lol.

If there is one thing i could say about the matter its this:
I feel women should not just outright say 'no porn allowed' and leave it at that. it puts a lot of responsibilities on the man, and they often feel like its an 'inner struggle' with no 1 to talk to about. the man may fail and feel ashamed more than before, and thus keep it as a secret. which is worse for the relationship. and i dont want to instill paranoia, but i have plenty of mates who's wives said 'no porn ever!' and guess what, they still watch it, only difference is they do it in secret!

so i would suggest just talking about it with your partner first and see what can be done. maybe a compromise? one things for sure, it will be more difficult if you just say 'no' and wash your hands on the matter.

P.S. I have to agree with another statement mentioned, in most cases, men are fully IN LOVE with their partner despite the porn. so dont take it personally.
