4 more years?

This is a simple question for everyone, not meant to be a big discussion of political affiliation or what you think about Iraq and other world issues, or potential candidates.

I simply would like to know, do you want Bush to be in Office for four more years, regardless of who is running against him?

That's it. Yes or no. No reasons needed, no flame wars wanted. Just a yes or no. Thanks for cooperating

Oh, and if you don't live in the US, I don't mind if you vote. Not that I could stop you anyway, but I'm interested in TFP's voice as a whole on this yes or no question.

If people can keep this within the parameters requested by the poster, I'll leave this thread here.

If they can't, or it causes other problems, it'll be moved to "Politics".

Keep him for four more years. Maybe free expression will be outlawed and he will bring us that much closer to a second American Revolution. No taxation without [competant] representation! That is probably the only way that drastic change in our government takes place, unfortunately.

Time for a change, a big change in my book. We need fresh ideas, and we need to get back to domestic issues that matter, like rebuilding nasa, the economy, and fixing social security, and maybe having healthcare that works.

Not to debate, but I found it extremely funny that you put "fix nasa" and "fix the economy and social security" in the same sentence. Hehehe.

After what he's done? Not only do I want him removed from the White House (frogmarched, if necessary), but were it within my power, I'd have him tried, convicted, and imprisoned without possibility of pardon or parole for the rest of his natural life. He lied - a plain, baldfaced lie, repeated often and at length - about Iraq. Thousands upon thousands are dead now - including several hundred Americans - as a direct result of those lies.

What disturbs me is that there's so many people who are actually okay with the idea of returning this criminal to office.

Seretogis, I've been wanting to ask you something for a while. It's based on what I remember being an Ellen DeGeneres standup routine.
"Gay Republicans? How does that work? 'We disapprove of our own lifestyle!'"
Now, I know you're not a Republican (Libertarian, right?) but you tend to hold views that are in line with the sort of people who'd not be friendly. So you support Bush, but he doesn't support your right to marry a man, serve in the military, etc. Is that issue just not important enough for you?

Wait a minute. Scaremongering has been the primary tactic for neoconservatives since Goldwater. Where would neocon Republicans be without scaremongering?

This has always been the platform of politicians on each side of the fence.

The Sky Is Falling: Left

The Gays Are Coming After Our Children: Right

Big Corporations Are Trying To Kill Us All: Left

The Socialists Are Coming After Our Money: Right

White People Are Coming After Our Minorities: Left

The Minorities Are Coming After Our White People: Right

That's enough, I hope I didn't offend everyone. This is of course meant all in jest.

Good point Conclamo Ludus. Thing is, you definitely hear those examples you gave as coming from the right than those you gave as coming from the left.

In regards to the current results of the poll, I only wish Americans were more like TFPers.

I sure don't want four more years. I'm just worried that the democrats running would be too soft on terrorists, etc., which isn't exactly the best thing I could think of. I guess I'm looking for someone that will be rational but tough enough if he has to be...

No, simply put, Mr. Bush has been a poor steward of the nation's economy, has damaged our position in the international community and has failed at making truly meaningful improvements in homeland security. Thank you, sir, for your service and enjoy your retirement years in Crawford.
