New friend I made this weekend
 

Dave and I did our usual two state park hike this weekend...we managed 6 miles despite me injuring myself upon stepping on this.....

I had been looking out for these all along but I never saw him until I was on top of him...needless to say I jumped about 3 feet in the air(jamming my leg when I hit the ground) but when my heart started beating again we found where he had mosied off to and snapped a few pics..this one show the most of him, he was about 3 feet long. He's VERY pretty, the colors on him were quite remarkable...Im thinking he just finished shedding

Oh well you know....I tried, but I guess he thought I was gonna step on him again and he looked right at me and shook his head hehehehehe so I figured 5 feet was close enuff!!

Just kidding...I probably would have been farther than 5 ft away. I don't mind snakes, unless they're venomous.
