The JFK assassination was carried out by the mob in my mind. JFK accepted a large amount of mob money from Vegas during the election (as did Nixon), and it was JFK's father who approached the Chicago crime boss to try and make sure the sway came to JFK's side (remember, this was a very close election by all accounts). The Kennedy's paid $500,000 to the Chicago mob to ensure democratic votes. The Chicago mob, in turn, had soldiers IN polling stations on the day of the elections ensuring democratic votes. If you look at the west side precincts reporting, there is an abnormal amount of democratic voting (over 95% in most precincts). The deal that was struck would be that if the mob helped Kennedy get elected, the new administration would lower the heat on the mob in general, but most importantly, on the mob in Vegas as it was quickly becoming the mob's cash cow and the feds had started to look out west with a weary eye. Kennedy obviously did get elected, but the elder JFK pushed him to elect Bobby to attorney general. Once that happened, Bobby Kennedy went all-out after the mob, quite obviously breaking the deal. Kennedy was not killed by one person, I think a lot of people believe this, and Lee Harvey Oswald was simply the fall guy for the whole thing. Whether he was even involved or not remains debateable. But, the very interesting fact is that a well-connected mobster from Vegas met with Jack Ruby, who at that point was just a club owner in Texas, twice in Florida several days before he killed Oswald. I'm sure the Kennedy's knew what was going on, and obviously did not want to talk about it publicly, and Oswald being the only person who knew the actual details of the assassination, was quickly put to bed.

I saw all this on an A&E special about the mob's control of Vegas, but the facts laid out make perfect sense as to who was behind it all, if you ask me.

Fine... but how do you explain the government trying to cover it up? Are you suggesting they are in cahoots with the mob yet had no hand in the assassination?

I have seen the video, not in slow motion though, but it's possible that he saw the person that shot him from the motion in the video. I'm actually starting to read 'The CIA, Vietnam and the plot to Assassinate JFK' by Fletcher Prouty, and at the end of the book, I hope to discover some answers myself.

What is the government trying to cover up? As far as I know the government says Lee Harvey Oswald did it, Jack Ruby killed him several days later. That's mostly true - Oswald was defintely involved, whether he fired a gun or not, and Jack Ruby did indeed kill him. Records that have been sealed in relation to the investigation probably contain SOME info about the financial links between the US administration and the mafia, or known players. I dont know, thats my take.
