I 100% agree with the idea of dolls being creepy.Feeling this feeling we get when dolls are in our presence this would be a good choice to make:Never see Tales of the Hood! But anyways, whenever i see a damn doll i try not to stare at it.And when I dont stare, It stares at me.Most freaky off all, when it just sits there, not looking at you, you get the feeling it's turning it's head is turning slowly towards you.In fact you could have sworn it's expression changed or it moved.Anyone agree? That's what I thought.

You guys just made me scared of dolls. :(

I'm really really scared of waking up and seeing something watching me trough the window. I can't sleep without window blinds. Waking up, looking at the window and seeing someone looking back.... and you don't know how long they've been watching you.

If I watch horror movies I get afraid to put my feet down, as in getting up from the sofa, the bed etc. Wherever there's a space I can't look under easily...

Oh and the people who feels it weird to be scared of clowns.. John Wayne Gacy, a famous mass murderer dressed up like a clown and killed kids...

Gacy is one of the reasons I used to be scared shitless of clowns.
http://pine.zero.ad.jp/~zac81405/image/gacy2.gif
Not to mention Pennywise.

For some reason I lumped clowns and those people in those cartoon suits at theme parks into the same category of freaky.
http://www.destinationorlando.com/a-disney-parade.jpg
Both freak me out still, but less so. There's something about people being payed to always be happy for other people is just wrong in my book.

Anyways, I think my most traumatic experience with dolls was at this cabin I went to stay at for an overnight thing when I was a Campfire girl. Like ratbastid, there were these glass cases with ancient Japanese puppet dolls in them. They were mounted on the wall such that their arms were splayed wide open, as if they were trying to welcome you, but it just wasn't warm and happy... CHRIST ON A CRUTCH were they freaky as hell. They looked sinister, like they were waiting for us to go to sleep, plotting our deaths. By the end of the night, no one could sleep because we were all so freaked by the puppets that we just huddled into a big mass on the couch farthest away from the puppets. I tried to find a picture of something resembling the dolls, but I couldn't find anything from the right era and I can't remember what kind of dolls they were. So instead, here is a head-only picture of a Japanese tonda puppet.

So once again, I must conclude with: I'm a scaredy cat.

Know what freaks me out? Furbys. We got one of those from our grandparents for christmas, and I swear to this day that damned thing is after my soul or something. Trust me, there is nothing creepier than going downstairs in the morning to grab a bowl of cereal and hearing that thing giggle from the table behind you, staring straight at you, when you're SURE it wasnt' there the night before!

Hmm... dolls and clowns? Umm... well, sort of. Used to be scared of them. Even a year ago I was afraid of those grey aliens. You know the ones that have grey or white skin, and humongous black eyes. I have since then become far more rational. I sleep in the living room our apartment, and when the lights are out, there is plenty of pitch-black spots all around me, as opposed to if I was in a bedroom. Around the entertainment system, under the dining table, the foyer, parts of the kitchen nearby. Some spots of pitch black are large enough to where a person, maybe 6'5", could easily be hiding. I simply got used to it, and now the dark doesn't even scare me. It's all about rational thought. Crazy people ;)

Umm...... Dolls, Clowns, Maniquins, they all freak the crap outta me. I really have no other fear that I have found. But a Clown at a birthday party..... I never take my eyes off him. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

I just might be....

Destructicon 09-27-2003 07:23 AM

All this talk of clowns and dolls, and nobody's mentioned Poltergeist yet? Great movie but the clown parts scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it.

On a side note, as long as I'm on Poltergeist, I'd like to point something out: when the investigator guy is in the bathroom, and his face starts to bleed, he picks at it and starts pulling pieces off and ends up tearing his own face off. Why? Doesn't he realize that THAT'S HIS FACE? WHY DOESN'T HE STOP?

Am I the only one who feels like this. I mean lifelike dolls are bad enough but when you give them voice, a face, a personality. *Shiver* I get chills just thinkin about it! [/B]
Do these dolls scare you? http://www.realdoll.com/

These dolls don't scare me but the people who spend $6000 on them do.

Clowns scare me, they really scare me.

I was in some museum in Washington and there was this display no one was at. My friend Justin and I wandered over there and we found this Über creepy wax dummy dispaly. Unlike most of the other exibits it wasn't behind a glass case, tehre was just a railing between us and the dummies. Jesus Christ on a crutch were they ever freaking scary. We just walked away fast as possible.

Whoa! Wax dummies are WAAAAY creepy!

Hail Frightened Ones!

Your fear excites them.

Their appetites are insatiable.

Please, do not feed the clowns.

Hail Supafly!

Is this the clow of which you speak?
http://www.annshallmark.com/cowparade/20101.jpg
It almost certainly hides an unspeakable evil that only the most perceptive can sense. Trust your instincts and never let your guard down when in the presence of those hideous clows.

I must board up the house now,

Haha...i can understand what you mean...but only in that sort of "I walked in a dark room and the creepy vantriloquist (sp?) doll was sitting in the corner just staring at me." :)

I think they're pretty damn cool though.... but on the note of clowns, I really don't get this...and it's one of my biggest pet peeves. People afraid of clowns? It seems like everyone and their mother is afraid of clowns. Unless you were abused by a clown, or attacked by a clown, or something crazy and sever of that sort....I'm sorry, but I just ain't buying it. :o

tekaweni 10-10-2003 03:13 PM

There's this scene in a sci-fi 60's movie with Jane Fonda called Barbarella, where a whole bunch of dolls more like trolls actually, attack her, and theyve got these huge sharp mechanical teeth going *snap* *snap*.

Oh, and have you seen any of the puppetmaster movies?

Yeah dolls creep me out too, for all the right reasons

nukeu666 10-11-2003 01:34 AM

only creepy doll i've seen is chucky
