Coldplay- X&Y
I picked up X&Y the day it came out, and after listening to it the first time through, I was a bit let down. Now, after listening too it alot, I truelly love it, and think it is an amazing album.
Thoughts? reviews? |
I'm a great fan of Coldplay =)
And I truly agree with you. Surreal music and totally awesome |
I really enjoy it.
I think it will make some great driving music for me. |
Tracks 1 & 5 are fucking great. Other than that I thought it was so so.

It didn't meet my expectations. Of course I'm just a casual Coldplay 'fan' so I wouldn't really know what they are supposed to sound like. That being said, I found a couple of tracks ok and the rest .... rubbish.
|
I just downloaded it, and its awesome. Then again, i liked Parachutes and Rush of Blood. Coldplay gets much play.
|
I've only listened to it once, well, it was on while I was sat round at a friends, but nothing seemed to jump out at me, not really a fan of the new single either. I may have to listen to it a few more times though, parachutes is one of my favourite ever albums, but I never really got into a rush of blood that much...

I definitely think "Talk" will be the next single. Great track.
|
I would say that I love it. Absolutely love it. The first song, I thought to myself, this is going to be one of my best CDs. All around goodness.
|
I have been holding out on getting this one cause I haven't heard it yet (I try to stay away from the radio). I really liked thier last two albums. I'm affriad of being let down I guess.
I'll pick it up now that I've read this thread :) |
Listening to it right now on a music download site (legal, of course), pretty good so far, I never really got into Rush of Blood, but this may grow on me.
|
I really like the odd-numbered songs, lol! I've been skipping past the evens. It's the first music by Coldplay that I've paid attention to, when I heard the first single on the radio I knew I had to have it.
|
i agree very much so.
im a devoted fan of coldplay's, and bought the cd without any previous listenings the day it came out. it took me a while to actually listen to the entire cd, because i was dissapointed at first. but for some reason or another, i decided to listen to it one night when i went to bed. i basically didn't sleep that night because i didn't want to miss any of the cd. i now love it, and question my sanity that i could ever doubt coldplay. |
i'll not claim to be a huge coldplay fan. but I own three discs. (x & y, parachutes, rush of blood to the head). I was really let down by x & y. I thought that parachutes was marvelous. When i got around to picking up robthh, I was blown away. That cd is downright amazing. x and y just left too much to be desired. They seem to be trying to follow radiohead's path to greatness. They overused electronic samples on this cd and almost tried too hard. The beauty of their first cds and ultimately the band they seem to be following radiohead is the simplicity and leaving things as expression and not as effort.

I love Coldplay. I've loved them since the very first time I heard Yellow. I thought I could NEVER dislike anything from them. I was wrong. I don't really like X&Y. I just don't think anything they make now, can add up to their first album - :| (first album - parachutes) Too bad for me. |
i feel like the music's appeal is steadily declining. rush of blood was absolutely spectacular but x&y, to me, sounds like coldplay is starting to 'cater' to mass-appeal.
