50 Cent Breaks up with The Game!

Looks like 50 filed for divorce.

I know there is hiphop heads here, But i'm not sure how many are fans of these two MC's.

Anyways, I'm sure you have heard all about what happened between these two.

I can't find an article, But heard little bits on the radio the other morning about it..something about The Game being full of himself and "Disrespecting" 50. In a live radio interview in NY 50 pretty much said that The Game was no longer a member of G-Unit.

After all that was said and done, The Game or one of his boys shot 50's bodyguard..From what i heard 50 was the intended target.

So..For all you that are in the know, What's your take on this?

Kinda wierd that all this happens right before 50's new album release

EDIT: Found 3 articles.

50 Cent needs to remove his own head from his ass...He aint that good.
Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of either of these guys, But shit like this has got to stop..These guys not only have adult fans but they are also role models to younger fans who look up to these guys.

Then you got some MC's who are always complaining about how closely they are monitered by the police and even higher ranking authorities...Geee..I wonder why, Why don't they just do the music and leave thier "Gangsterness" behind them.

I'm very interested to see what Dr.Dre has to say about this and who he's gonna side with, Correct me if i'm wrong..But didn't Dre discover The Game? I hope very much Dre kicks 50 to the curb.

I wonder what Dre thinks about the whole thing, The man is 40 years old and has probably been through more shit than either of these two guys. Ya 50 has been shot 9 times, But with an attitude like his..It doesn't surprise me.

Quote:
Updated March 1,2005-- Authorities have refuted early reports that a shooting victim at Hot 97 was affiliated with 50 Cent’s G-Unit. Now authorities have stated that the victim is a native of Compton, the hometown of The Game.

At the time of the shooting, 50 Cent was interviewing on Hot 97 and The Game was reportedly trying to gain entrance to Hot 97. A confrontation ensued outside after the Compton-bred rapper and his camp were prevented from getting inside of the facility.

According to sources, the wounded man was a 20-something African American male, but have not positively identified him as a member in The Game’s crew. 50 Cent, G-Unit and Olivia were immediately ushered out of a side exit to the building.

Additionally, the offices of Violator Management were also shot up. Violator is the management home of 50 Cent, Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes, among others.

The victim was shot in his leg and taken to a Manhattan hospital for examination. Police are currently investigating both shootings and no suspects were available at press time

Yesterday 50 booted Game from his powerhouse rap outfit after the younger rap star appeared on Hot 97 with Funkmaster Flex this past Saturday and Angie Martinez this afternoon and refuted 50’s claim that he had a major hand in assisting Game with his debut, The Documentary.

The Game appeared on Hot 97 at the same time as 50 Cent was on Power 105 and was unaware of the announcement. It wasn’t until a caller phoned in and asked Game his thoughts on 50 Cent dissing him that the California rapper learned the news.

Game carefully avoided answering the question and responded by saying he would continue to make good music.

The next caller, however, challenged the Compton star and told him he wouldn’t be as successful without 50 Cent before Game retorted by telling the female fan to “suck it.”

In a recent interview with VIBE magazine, 50 stated he was brought in by Interscope Records to resurrect Game’s album, which according to 50 was on the verge of being shelved and Game being dropped from the label.

On Saturday, however, The Game told Funkmaster Flex that his status was never uncertain nor was He ever close to being let go by Dr. Dre or Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine.

“It was the truth,” an animated 50 Cent told Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 this evening after his appearance on Power 105. “He was getting dropped. Why else would they let me be a partner on a project that [Interscope] had for two years?

“I’m so disappointed,” 50 continued. “This is crazy.”

Earlier yesterday, The Game repeated his assertions and also noted his displeasure with 50 Cent for publicizing a shoving match the duo had.

The Game compared the situation to the spat between former teammates Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, which often took place through the media.

Yet The Game seemed to overlook comments he made during a previous Hot 97 interview when he initially discussed his and 50 butting heads over the direction of his album.

50, however, explained to Funkmaster Flex that there was no physical confrontation of any kind.

“We ain’t never had no pushing and shoving match,” said 50. “That’s entertainment. I was trying to follow up with him and not make him look crazy by saying it didn’t happen. Because he says a lot of things and then turns around and takes it back.”

50 Cent then remarked on Game calling out Jay-Z while in Amsterdam and then quickly dissipating any rumors of beef between him and the Def Jam president once he returned.

He said Game called him from overseas to check on the status of any potential disagreement Jay-Z had. 50 never got in touch with Jay-Z, but received word from sources close to Jay that the emcee was just warning Game.

The Game recently returned from a European promotional tour for The Documentary and was confronted with reports of a growing riff between him and the rest of the G-Unit camp.

Although he downplayed the situation, the rapper revealed jealousy was playing a role in the information floating around between him and his former clique.

“I been hearing mixed things, getting mixed e-mails, getting phone calls, so I don't know the nature of where this is coming from,” Game told BET’s “106 & Park.” “I just got back from Europe so I haven't heard a lot of things and at then end of the day, some people are frustrated with the success of my album.”

50, on the other hand, felt just the opposite.

“I think he has a problem with my position,” 50 said. “I think he’d like to be 50 Cent. Like, the head of the situation. To be technical, I make more of his record than he does.”

50 added that he contributed at least six songs on The Documentary, including the chorus for “Church For Thugs.”

He called Game’s album his EP before it was the Cali rapper’s album. “I muted my vocals and gave him records.”

In a moment that perhaps foreshadowed Game’s departure from G-Unit, the rapper revealed on Saturday his intentions of recording with Nas, a nemesis of 50 Cent.

Funkmaster Flex questioned Game for aligning himself with Nas, but the rapper responded: “When I have beef it seems like I’m always by myself.”

50 told listeners Game might as well cut the track with Nas now.

As for the rest of G-Unit, Young Buck apologized to 50 Cent on air while at Power 105 for his lyrics regarding Game on “Let Me In” when he rapped “You ain’t no Blood like Game.”

“He’s just a rapper, he don’t live it, man,” said Buck. The Tennessee native then offered to “take care of him” referring to Game before 50 intervened and told him it wouldn’t be necessary

Lloyd Banks simply said: “He don’t move like we move.”

Meanwhile, Jadakiss and D-Block have confirmed that they are going to respond to 50 Cent’s disses in the song “Piggy Bank.” The Yonkers native called into DJ Clue’s radio show late Monday.

“I got a whole clip loaded up,” Jadakiss said of 50. “Half a dollar is nothing. I’ma destroy this dude.”

Fat Joe, who is named in the “Piggybank” dis record, is also about to reply to 50. Joe called the rapper a “CB4 gangster” and quipped 50 has been beefing with Ja Rule for 4 years and hasn’t even slap boxed him yet.

Quote:
In lieu of a shooting that occurred outside New York's Hot 97 Monday night, 50 Cent's Interscope label has cancelled the rapper's scheduled in-store appearance today (March 2) at the Times Square Virgin Megastore in Manhattan, a label spokesman announced.

50 Cent was to appear to promote his much-anticipated sophomore release, The Massacre.

The Interscope spokesman declined comment on Monday's shooting incident, which took place moments after 50 Cent broke news during an interview that Game was officially dismissed as a member of his G-Unit rap crew.

Label officials are currently trying to sort through the aftermath of 50's decision to kick Game out and how it affects his new album.

Shortly after the incident at Hot 97, shots were also fired outside Violator Management, which represents 50 Cent. The shots left the glass front door shattered and six bullet holes in the wall of the lobby.

Further details on the Hot 97 shooting identified the man shot as Kevin Reed, an associate of Game, police said. Reed, 20, of Compton was shot once in the upper leg-groin area and grazed twice – once in the leg and shoulder, police said. He was treated and released from
St. Vincent's Medical Center yesterday.

Police said they doubted Reed's story that the shooting was not linked to rap beef. While people with Reed at the time reportedly told police they were bystanders, cops believe they are all affiliated with Game.

Several members of 50 and Game's entourages left the scene after officers arrived, and police said an unclaimed dark sedan was left running outside the building.

Police are investigating both shootings and have made no arrests in connection to either. Submit News!.

Quote:
Representatives of The Game's Compton label The Black Wall Street, have strongly refuted rumors and news reports claiming that Game's brother, COO of The Black Wall Street, posted a message on the company's online forum, implicating 50 Cent in the shooting that occurred outside of New York radio station Hot 97 on Monday (Feb. 28).

Rumors kicked into high drive after 50 Cent officially booted the Game from his G Unit click during an interview at Hot 97 radio station Monday.

After 50's revelation, gunfire erupted outside the radio station, and 50 and his crew quickly left the scene.

A 23-year-old Compton, California man named Kevin Reed was shot in the buttocks.

It has been confirmed that Reed was with Game’s Black Wall Street entourage and was visiting New York for the first time.

Representatives of Black Wall Street said the company's site was hacked days later when someone under the pretense of Bigfase100, the name of Game's brother, posted phony comments on the website boards.

According to Black Wall Street, one fabricated message read, "A member of their [Black Wall Street's] entourage was allegedly shot by someone affiliate by 50 Cent and they are now holding 50 Cent responsible."

"The problem has been rectified by the site administrator G-ride," said Black Wall Street in a statement. "We do not have all the facts regarding the situation [between 50 and Game] and we will not comment on the situation until we have all the facts."

The company also stated that any news source claiming to have comments from Bigfase100 or any other member of Black Wall Street concerning the incident between 50 Cent and Game would be completely without merit.

In related news, police in New York have announced that they will closely monitor sites frequented by rappers, in an attempt to prevent further bloodshed.

“There is going to be increased attention to rap," a high ranking police official told the New York Daily News. “They can't feel they can come into New York to settle a grudge."

I didn't read all of the articles posted above, I don't really care about any of the beef happening between these two people, or any celebs for that matter...
I read this article earlier today and I think it sums up what is happening, and what happens with all celebs.

Jennifer Lopez and 50 Cent go where talent can’t take you
Flash for cash

by Mike Bell
Calgary Sun

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, or if the bottle of Elmer’s glue that once was Mr. Ed has already been sufficiently flogged …

JENNIFER LOPEZ

BUT given a choice between style or substance, North America will, nine times out of 10, leave the latter crying, alone, in the corner of the high school gym as we try to cop a feel from the former in the middle of the dancefloor with Stairway to Heaven playing in the background.

It’s (Paris Hilton) proven (Nicole Richie) every (Jessica Simpson) second (Friends) of (People) every (Entertainment Tonight) hour (Keanu Reeves) of (American Idol) every (Meet the Fockers) day (Bill O’Reilly) in the type of clarity that would send even the most chronic alcoholic hurtling through the 12 steps in a day and a half.

If you further need to be mule-kicked in the goolies by it, take a look at the two performers releasing what are sure to be this week’s No. 1 and No. 2 CDs: Jennifer Lopez and 50 Cent.

Each hits the new release wall — Lopez with Rebirth this March 1, and 50 Cent’s The Massacre March 3 — with more star power and name recognition than Jesus Christ and the Prophet Muhammad combined.

But the amount of actual talent contained in both entertainers could be adequately measured with an eyedropper and a thimble — and a pint glass to top up the remaining space.

Fact: Jennifer Lopez can not sing.

It’s not opinion. It’s not a strongly held belief. It’s not something open to debate.

She cannot sing.

And every tuneless warble that comes out of that collagenically enhanced orifice of hers grates on the brain like a vinegar-coated thumbtack in a canker sore.

If this is her after studio wizardry, her real vocal prowess must fall somewhere between Linda McCartney and Ashlee Simpson.

As for 50 Cent, he’s not particularly gifted at his chosen profession either.

Even if you’re a fan, you have to admit his skills are weak — he raps like a heavily sedated dental patient, who’s gone 12 rounds with a footstool and a steep staircase.

But none of that matters. Both Lopez and Fitty simply have to play their roles and be, well, Jennifer Lopez and 50 Cent (i.e. cliches and stereotypes), while the others around them — many who are truly gifted at what they do — prop them up and attempt to distract them from their respective talent vacuums.

For Lopez on Rebirth, that means she has to be the more mature Jenny from the block, a streetwise sensitive soul who isn’t afraid to lay her heart on the line — or shake that substantial thang!

Unfortunately, there are fewer high-tempo hits on the disc and more dreary ballads, which — despite some pretty solid and at times inventive production — allows too much of her to be heard.

Much, much too much.

50’s sophomore album, on the other hand, plays entirely into his strengths — if you want to call glorifying and exploiting the ugliest aspects of black America a strength.

From the intro with gun shots and a woman’s scream, to the angry misogyny that they attempt to pass off as cute innuendo, and all of the tough talk and feud-picking in between, The Massacre is exactly what you think/want/dread it will be.

And what everyone, apparently, keeps wanting.
Flash, bling, entertainment, diversion, celebrity, fluff — call it what you want.

But what it ain’t and never ever will be is something of substance.

They're both really stupid. I read that first article, and the fact that 50 would take credit for doing most of Game's album is horrible. Not because he's taking credit, but because it's such a terrible album. 50 is going to get schooled by Jada, Fat Joe, and hopefully Nas.

a little surprising. the reports are a tangled mess.

is dre releasing a cd this summer? i saw a sticker somewhere. lately the efforts bearing his name have been reliably weak. not commercially, of course. but it seems like he's telling someone else to phone it in for him, every track he "produces" is a shared credit. i keep thinking something good is going to come out of this crowd but it doesn't really happen.

what's going on with hittman...selling pizzas somewhere?

If shit like this keeps up we're just gonna have to do away with fucking battling all together. Cause these dudes don't know how to fuckin keep it on wax. They can't even take cracks at a persons actual emcee skills. All they can do is talk about how much more money and girls they have and how they're more of a gangsta and threaten each others lives. Funny how it's okay on a record but at the grocery store you get arrested for it. Thats not battling. Thats weak. Any asshole can do that. Jada, Fat Joe, and Nas are gonna serve him. For one they all have more respect, street cred, and actual talent among just about everything else you can think of short of MAYBE muscles and bullet wounds. Plus they KNOW how to battle. Or at least from what I remember. It's kinda stupid really. I'm just sick of all this shit. Thank God for the underground hiphop scene. Where everyone still knows how to do it. If they have beef they take it to Braggin Rights or Scribble Jam or The Wake Up show, etc. And one serves the other and they go on making records. This is just stupidity what the fuck does it prove? Yeah just add to the already bad image that hip-hop has these days makes me fuckin sick.

Wonder how this will pan out, I personally can't wait to hear the reply from Fat Joe, Jada and hopefully Nas to "Piggy Bank." 50 Cent is such a hypocrite, beefing with Ja Rule saying he's soft because he made songs for the ladies..yet 50 turns around and does the same thing (21 Questions, Candy Shop to name a couple.) 50 is gonna get verbally destroyed by Fat Joe and Jada, and hopefully Nas. I personally thought The Game's album was good, I've yet to hear The Massacre though. Will be interesting to see what happens nonetheless.

Once again, history repeats itself in the rap industry. Im still a strong believer that most of this beef shit is just for publicity and actually puts more money into everybody's "piggy bank." Maybe thats too obvious, but at the same time people are still being shot and killed, which cant go overlooked. Anyway, as a hip hop fan, I personally enjoyed both "The Documentary" and "The Massacre." I still like hearing 50 rap, even if I have no clue what the street life is about (nor do probably 80% of his fans), but "The Massacre" might have been better had he not repeated the same shit through half his songs. Thanks to 50, I am now an expert in "teflon," "rubber grips," and "revolvers"...haha. I still want to hear more about what actually happened between Game and 50 before I choose my "side". I will say this though, 50 is crazy if he thinks he could out battle or one up Nas. He might as well just start chuggin his ether.

I honestly think 50 is gonna get more than verbally destroyed...Sooner or later.

50 Cent is being labelled one of the best in hiphop...Gotta love the media. What happened to 2 MC's in the past who were sitting up at the top with the best...

I don't follow 50 Cent too much, But if you ask me..He's burning his bridges. He sold 1 album and got rich and now he says that people want to be him? WTF is that all about.

This whole thing is really stupid. This is what I understand of it so far:
50 got pissed at Game because he didn't want anything to do with the Fat Joe and Jada beef. He then labeled the Game "disloyal" and said that he was kicking him out of G-Unit while on the radio show. The Game then proceeded to gather a posse and head to the radio station. They weren't even let in the building, and this is where the altercation occured and somebody got shot in the leg.

I would be interested to hear what Dre and Eminem have to say about this. I wouldn't be surprised if Dre is the only reason they "made up". They both looked like they were being pushed into the situation. Neither of them really looked sincere in the whole thing.

I haven't heard anything about whether or not the Game is still a member of G-Unit or not. Personally, I think the Game would be better off as a solo artist. I think "The Documentary" was actually a really good album. He shows a lot of talent for somebody so new to the rap game. 50 on the other hand needs to chill out. "The Massacre" really wasn't that great of an album. I think he needs to grow more as a lyricist before he takes jabs at guys that have been around so much longer than him. Ja-Rule was an easy target, but Jada and Fat Joe will probably give him a run for his money. I hope they school him and he turns himself around and comes back a little more humble and prepared next time.

^ He's already taken shots at Jay-Z and Ghostface. At the start of his career all he'd do is throw battle rhymes at veteran heads. He was dissing everybody. Jay bust out with "I'm all about the dollar who the fuck is 50 Cent?!"

Did you guys see their statement they aired on MTV? My favorite part was where The Game said "I'm almost ashamed for having been a part of the things that happened this past week." Almost?! You should be ashamed for that shit. Whats this "almost" shit?

Dre should just drop 'em like it's hot. Seriously, there are so many other unsigned West coasters who would be so much better.

I agree with what Shady posted, but personally I think a lot of the quality on the Game's album is from the contributions of already established artists. Dr. Dre's production skills as well as rap all-star cameos really round out the album, but it's hard to pick out how good the Game is in the midst of it all.
