VNV Nation
I've been a fan of VNV Nation for the past few years (and finally saw them live a few days ago) but I know woefully little about other bands in whatever genre they'd fall into other than generally industrial.
Anyone else listen to this kind of stuff and have recommendations for other bands that might appeal? Thanks in advance. |

VNV Nation is an incredibly awesome group. I've had the chance to see them once. They are one of my more favorite bands. Where did you see them live? I didn't know they were doing any shows right now.
As for recommendations, I have a ton of them. :-) Covenant, a cool group from Sweden and Apoptygma Berzerk, an awesome band from Norway, are two more of my most favorite bands and you should definitely check them out. Here's a supplementary list: Angels & Agony, Assemblage 23, Haujobb, DIN FIV, Evils Toy, and Icon of Coil. Hope this list helps you out a bit! |

Yeah the Nation are great, used to listen to them a lot before I got into more metal a heavier Goth stuff. Some similar bands to them are:
BlutEngel - From Germany really intense techno, fast paced stuff usually Project Pitchfork - From England? Industrial Thanks for the recommendations degrawj. |

If you love VNV, then Covenant and Icon of Coil will blow you away. There are a billion groups in the genre... I could go on and on... but those two are good to start off on. Evil's Toy is also good, if you're into the genre's subsection of geeky sci-fi lovers. In which case Velvet Acid Christ, Funker Vogt, and Front Line Assembly (their mid 90's stuff) can satisfy you too. The other bands that hardly anyone can tell you about are just as good: Emergence, Mind.In.A.Box, Imperative Reaction, Massiv In Mensch, Solitary Experiments, Epsilon Minus, In Strict Confidence, Lights of Euphoria, Regenerator, Seabound, X Marks The Pedwalk, and ... heh.. more.
Sorry, I get a little carried away. This is 90% of what I listen to.

That being said, they're coming out with a new CD in the next few months and said they'd be back on tour later this year for a more extensive run. They also said something about big surprises or changes or something on that tour, but I never know what that means. Keep checking their website to see what's going on. Thanks for the advice all. |
