They're pretty damned entertaining. "Take Your Momma Out" is probably my favorite on the album. I'd love to see them live.

K-Wise 08-17-2004 07:10 PM

Would you be terribly offended if I thought they were fucking god aweful?

I enjoy the CD.. it's good.

It's kind of weird.. and not your typical mainstream stuff.... but it's good to listen to every now and then.

Is there any relation to the "Scissor Girls"?

K-Wise 08-18-2004 06:04 PM

Hmm perhaps I should give em a chance then. It's just I hear take yer mother out and can't believe how horrible it is. (my opinion of course...apparently people like it)

I read a music review of Scissor Sisters in Time Magazine, and it mentioned that they cover Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. I downloaded a copy of the song, and it couldn't be more wrong. Poppy, uptempo, with a BeeGee's style vocalist on top. Must purge the memory of this song.

^ Good lord I should slit the guys throat! Okay but seriously no one can cover Floyd dammit.

I like what I've heard of their material so far - I love their particular sound. It reminds me a lot of Slade, Rex and Sweet :D

I will admit to owning and throughly enjoying a copy of Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply, but I'm still not going anywhere near this album. Feh, kids these days, with their noise... ;)

redlemon, the same thing happened to me...I heard they did a cover of Comfortably Numb, so I got a friend to play it for me. Doing that to Floyd is criminal. I don't think I've ever heard a worse cover, and that includes last year's Sweet Home Alabama cover.

Redlemon 08-20-2004 09:07 AM

I don't even like Pink Floyd, but I find that unconscionable.

At three in the afternoon on a day in late June I saw a line around the block at the Trubador in West Hollywood. I looked up at the billboard and it said "Sissor Sisters". I commented to my wife how odd it was for people to line up like that- I mean hours before the show. Just last week a friend of mine who is a stylist for Ozzy and all that mentioned them too. I got the album, very diverse. I like some of the stuff and must say it reminds me of early Elton John or David Bowie.
