Best album of the 1st 1/2 of 2004?
Tomorrow marks the halfway point (month-wise) of 2004, so what was your favorite album so far this year?
Remember, the album has to have a release date between Jan 1 and June 30 2004

Out of the stuff that comes to mind that I've heard (there's a lot of stuff out there I haven't heard any of):
Wilco - A Ghost is Born Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News Patterson Hood - Killers and Stars David Cross - It's Not Funny (okay, it's a comedy album, not a music album, but it's got some moments that got bigger laughs out of me than anything has in months, so it makes my list)

Blue Öyster Cult hasn't come out with an album yet this year, so obviously, the answer is: There is not best album of the first half of 2004.

Saw it on an MTV2 news brief a few weeks back. They're currently in the studio recording, and remarked that the album would be done well before the end of the year. The reporter did, however, comment that they may wait until January/February 2005, so as not to get lost in "the christmas shuffle."
