Synth knowledge - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I plan on getting a Synthesizer/Workstation but I'm have trouble which to get.

I know there is a giant difference in what all of these keyboards do (and price). But which would anyone recommend for doing just about anything? Or does anyone have any new ones to recommend?

Roland JP-8000
Alesis ION 49-Key 1K DSP
Alesis Andromeda 61-Key Analog (not really wanting this one though, money wise)
Roland Fantom S-61
