I don't know what year it is when a song becomes officially an oldie (always changing, you know) but I guess I'll go with whatever plays on the oldies station...
"Sunshine Superman" by Donovan Ah, hell, I can't help myself, here is another... "Heard it Through The Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye |

I think of 'oldies' as Ragtime leading up to the 1920's/30's. My favourite song for enjoyable pop ditties (off the top of my head) would skip the 1960's and 70's entirely and very likely be "Mr Five by Five" from the 30's or 40's; not sure exactly when that written without checking.
For the more serious music, I would go with I Know Why (and so do you) and When Angels sing. The version of I know Why as sung by Paula Kelly with the Glenn Miller orchestra would likely place on my overall top ten list of songs.

not a CCR song, but rather one by John Fogerty, who was the main songwriter of the group. was released YEARS after CCR split up. as for the definition of "oldies" I tend to think of it in subjective terms. a song is an oldie to a given person if it was recorded before he or she was born.

Just one? hmmm...I guess I'll go with "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King. Artist-wise, I like the Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly quite a bit.
My dad has the Time-Life `50s collection...I used to listen to that constantly. Lots of great songs...

Radio stations classify "oldies" as popular music from the 50's and 60's. There is a little of a blurred line between Oldies and Classic Rock, as Classic Rock roughly covers the late 60's through the 70's.
That said, I'll go with "So Happy Together" by the Turtles.

I loathe all oldies songs, but considering they play The Doors now on oldies stations around here, I'll simply answer with: anything by The Doors.
[edit] And The Beatles AFTER their corny "Love me do" and "Help!" phase *shudder*.
