Drowning Pool

After the lead singer died, I didn't think we would hear anything from Drowning Pool again. I figured that they would disband and join/form other groups.

I've been listening to the new Drowning Pool song - "Step Up" and I really think the new singer fits in great and the song is just as good as their hits from the first album.

Although, I find I prefer the original singer (Dave Williams) just a bit more than the new singer. What do any of you think of the new singer and do you like him more than Williams?

I remember hearing news that he had died, but I never knew what happened there...how'd he die?

i heard the song too and i think their sound is still great, and even though i still like them, i do think Dave Williams was a better frontman.

Was natural causes, no drugs involved.

"According to a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner's Office for the Northern District of Virginia, Williams died of cardiomyopathy, not anything drug-related, as was widely speculated.

Cardiomyopathy is a disorder affecting the heart muscle resulting in inadequate heart pumping. The disorder can be caused by several factors, including viral infections, heart attacks, alcoholism, and severe hypertension, among others."

Not to say it was the cause of death here, but alcohol and drugs are one of the same. I had heard he was a frequest drinker, too. Too bad I don't know more about this though, 'cuz my info is coming from the depths of my memory banks and this thread.
