I was in search of a 820 at a decent price in Canada but it'd hard since Musician's Friend doesn't ship here so music stores don't feel a need to bring their prices down to compete. While on my search. I played the 620 (the newer one). Its a very nice guitar with a nice and low action with dimarzio pickups which by themselves are probably more costly than the price you paid on the guitar. Its also one of the sexiest guitars I've seen in a while. It's like a modernized les paul, sure to get some long stares. Alas, the price wasn't right at the time in Canada and the reasonably priced Ibanez AX-220 caught my eye at the store.
Anyways, here's some reviews of the AES820, and it is rated among the upper crust of the guitar world. http://www.harmony-central.com/Guita...AES820-01.html Give me your opinions of it when it arrives, by pm preferably. |

I've played the new 620 aswell. Very nice guitar with Seymour Duncan in the bridge and a Yamaha in the neck. Awesome fit and finish, great action and wicked tone. Its not as good as my Les Paul but its pretty damn close!
