I don't know if this can be called an invasion -- the living end has been around for years and the vines came out in the USA a couple of years ago as well...
there are a lot of great aussie bands though -- i recommend the whitlams and killing heidi. |

Also (and I realise my opinion wasn't solicited here), I found that Silverchair was good at the time their first album came out. I think the world needed some teen-angst-muffled-guitary-sounds, but with little in the way of imaginative lyrics. It really worked well for them. Is it just me, or did they really sort of drop off after that? Maybe the music scene changed such that their style wasn't really appreciated on as grand a scale? |
