One of my good friends told me about Kanye. Personally, I'm not into Rap, but I guess if this guy was behind such hits as H to the Izzo then I'm sure people will like him. Not to mention he's from Chicago I hear so...*shrug*...gotta show at least a little support for him
Anyways, I "acquired" the album to check it out. At the very least, I can say I admire his persistence considering what he's been through.

If he's the guy who raps in the new "Through The Wire" song, then I dig him and wanna hear more of his work. If he's not...forget I ever posted here.

have dloaded some of his songs. kanye's got some great beats in him and his work with other artists is terrific (talib kweli's "get by", ludacris's "stand up", jay-z's "lucifer", even alicia keys's new single). that being said, didn't like what i heard too much. of course, i'd have to buy the album to get a better opinion, which i'm thinking about given the buzz it's been given. i'd much rather hear another MC over his beats, kanye just doesn't do it for me.

The album is dope. The track w/ Common & Talib Kweli is sick. Very good album.

I like his work and I admire all that he's gone through but he's a little bit contradictory. His songs seemlessly go from (preaching) upliftment to degrading...he's definetly one of the better acts out right now but he straddles the line too much.

His album is AWESOME...... Quite possibly one of the best albums i've heard in some time, and this is coming from a guy who really doesn't care for much of the urban product out there....I defnitely recommend.

got the album a while back and listened to it constantly... i was kind of over the whole rap scene... too much bling wrap... made me depressed thinkin im never gonna be that loaded.... anyway kanye put out a great album... no bling bling wrap... no hardcore thuggin just good beats and a unique lyrical style... loved the talib and common track

good stuff. i think the thing i like most about kanye is that he LOVES what he does and whenever you see him on tv (or live like i did back in may ) he just radiates that kind of energy. best line off the album: "mayonaise colored benz, i push miracle whips".
bout fell out of my chair when i heard that shit.

Honestly, you guys have to like Kanye. He's huge! I saw him when he came to Toronto to do a show at the Docks and I bought tickets to go see Usher just because Kanye is going to be opening up the show. The College Dropout is a great album, if ya'll haven't got it go get it. He just released his 5th single off the album (The New Workout Plan), it's worth a listen.
