DJs?

Any DJs out there? I'm a somewhat experienced Dance and pub DJ so I'd be interested in swapping mix lists with anyone... just songs that each of us has had really good results with... you know the feeling... when the crowd is having a good time, you switch the track... and they go WILD... anyway, just checking the interest

I've been spinning for about 3 years. I started out doing deep house and trance, now I mostly do breakbeats and downtempo acid jazz. I love it, it's a rush

been spinning breaks and jungle for the last 4 years and producing/remixing for the last two. I just put all my DJ equipment up for sale this weekend. Got tired of all the bullshit people in the business, mainly shady promotors. I've got two more dates in febuary, and my bookings are done. Once I finish up all my cotract obligations with the record labels I'm associated with I'm probably selling off all my production gear as well. I'll always love the music, too bad there's so many people that kill the experience as a whole.

ya, I do parties, but there are no clubs where I am, so only when I go back home in Africa can I do clubs... and its hard there because business is really shady... so how much do you guys charge, by the way, depending on the situation...

I have a few hundred DnB+IDM+Noise+Ambient+Dub records, but no decks... so I haven't played anything in 3 years. However, for some reason I keep buying records...

edit: I messed around with mixing for a while, it was from hip-hop to breakbeat to jungle. Never got 1200s just in case it was a phase I was going through so I just got some geminis. But I stopped like 3 years ago. I sometimes wish I didn't stop, but right now I'm working on making the music that people mix.

i'm sorry, but can someone explain what IDM stands for? is it instrumental dance music? and how's it different than instrumental hip hop, like dj shadow or rjd2?

as I pull em out the crate, these have been hot for me (been spinning funky/deep house lately):

1.) DA Sunlounge: Solo Label: Detour 2003
2.) Joey Youngman: Psychic Friends Label: Nightshift Recordings
3.) Blue 6: Music & Wine (remixes) Label: Naked Music
4.) Pete Moss feat Terra Deva: After 2 Label: Definity
5.) Inland Knights: Turn Label: Drop Music
6.) Inland Knights: Keep On Label: Drop Music
7.) David Chouraqui: Could you be my lover Label: Aquarius

-----> These are just a few that had the crowd hot.

DeepHouse is a nice change for me. I've usually done breaks/progressive in the past, but as I get older it's easier to appreciate that jazzy electronic house sound; more so than the *harder house.

Any DJ's from Cali in here?
