Bootlegs

Dose anyone here collect bootlegs of live shows or anything of that matter? I know in a couple of posts i've talked about how i have started to get live Led Zeppelin stuff and the like. I was just wondering if anyone else out there gets them and where from if in the net.

I have tons of bootlegs, but none of them have i gotten off the net There is a guy down at the bus station here in town by the name of "CD Man" . He sells whatever you want from Hip Hop to Classical to Country.

Of course if you looking on the net for songs try Soulseek, i've heard ppl say good things about that.

I've got 78 live Pink floyd shows on CD. Other than that I've got some Dave Matthews, Grateful Dead, Primus, Oysterhead, Clutch, Widespread Panic, Phish, and a few others I can't really remember.

Some I got off of sites like:

http://www.pf-roio.de
http://www.furthermore.com
http://www.Primussucks.com
http://www.gdlive.com

though alot of the sites linked from these are dead and have been for a year or more.

Some I've traded for with people from these sites, a few I've bought from sites linked to these sites.

I've gotten a few Zep shows off of soulseek. I've got some other stuff like Pearl Jam and The Tragically Hip, White Stripes , U2 etc. from various websites that I can't recall at the moment.

soulseek seems pretty good though.

I collect Tori Amos bootlegs (have over 35+ shows), I've recorded a few myself with my Sharp MD recorder and binaural mics and put them down on CD. However, I only give copies to my friends, I don't sell them nor do I try to make any profit from these recordings whatsoever.

mrlayance beat me to it. If you have the bandwith to do Bit Torrent (do a google search on what it is), then Sharing The Groove and these others are your types of places. It is hands-down the easiest way to get bootlegs these days.

If you're a fan of specific bands, do some searches on the net. Many of these bands have specific Yahoo groups devoted to trading boots. I'm a Who fan and found one called Whoboots on Yahoo which does all sorts of trading through the net and the mail.

With the advent of CD-Rs, I fully believe that NOBODY should pay for a bootleg anymore. I remember buying boots by Queen and the Who, mediocre quality, for $30 a disc. I never pay more than postage and the costs of the discs.

I have a crap load of bootlegs. I think I just broke 400 individual Grateful Dead shows...I've been trading dead tapes since the mid 80's...I have a bunch of Zappa too. Other assorted boots...Slayer(Huntington Hooligans)...AC/DC...Slayer..Phish, Oysterhead...a lot of Primus and Frog Brigade stuff.....the list goes on. I used to get a lot from Furthur, but I mainly trade with people at shows or through the mail.

I've got the following:

1 Stone Temple Pilots bootleg
1 Radiohead
1 Queens of the Stone Age
3 Pearl Jam (the 'official bootlegs')
5 Dismemberment Plan

I got the STP one from someone on their message board, the Pearl Jam ones I bought, and the rest were soulseek downloads.
