Frank Zappa question....

I heard somewhere that Zappa had something like 1000 songs out there... Any truth to this?

Yea, lets clear this up. Zeppelin (more accuratly led zeppelin) is the band the dude in my avatar is from. AC/DC is my sig, and Zappa is some insane music that sounds like neither one.

I would probably say it's easily possible. Although Zappa was never really mainstream, he was a musical genius. He was also very in tune with politics. I always thought he was a burn out simply because alot of the burnouts I knew in college listened to his music, but au contrare! I couldn't believe the political knowledge he had in an interview I saw with him. He was also way ahead of his time as far writing orchestra score to go with his music. In the same interview I saw, he was conducting an orchestra in a studio to back up his new album. It's a shame that he's gone, because I'm sure he'd at least double that figure.

If I recall correctly, he not only wasn't a burnout, he'd kick people out of his band for smoking pot. If you think about it, there's no way you could get those charts right if you were high.
