				Disaster Songs
What are the greatest all-time disaster songs? You know, songs like Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Teen Angel, New York City Mining Disaster. I'm thinking of compiling a cd of "Head in the Oven Music" and your input would be appreciated...

Where Did You Sleep Last Night covered by Nirvana would probably be a good one to put on the album as well. Or you could put the original song In The Pines by Ralph Stanley on there. | |

| Psycho Location: Pasadena, CA | wow - fun topic! My first thoughts were "Edmund Fitzgerald" and "I Don't Like Mondays" but I'm hitting a wall after those... hmmm... Tool's "Aenema" could work... as an impending disaster "Some say a comet will fall from the sky. Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves. Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still." learn to swim!

No, I am right. Eddie Vedder couldn't sound worse if he was being choked with a dying cat.

then again, the original conveys almost no emotion and without the lyrics would sound downright peppy... but ah well. and "american pie" by don mclean.

| Tilted Location: Po-dunk | Kinda depends on your genre of music. Lot's of country disaster songs exist. Wreck of the Old 97 - Vernon Dalhart, 1924 (1st country song to sell a million records!) Town Of The Living Dead - Ron Sowell hmm what about that "Tell Laura I Love Her" song. Depressing. |

| Crazy Location: Philadelphia | How about "Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean? That song always gave me the creeps as a child. The spooky background singers going <i>"Big John... Big John...."</i>
