They are recording their next record. It's supposed to be farther in the direction of veni,vedi,vicous as opposed to the straight punk of their first LP. That's to bad, in my opinion, but I'll be checking it out for sure.
They didn't break up, it's obvious they like to fuck with their audience, so even if they said they broke up, I wouldn't believe it. They have been playing together since they were 14. |

The Hives are indeed alive and back with TYRANNOSAURUS HIVES, their newest album. They've been playing the single "Walk, Idiot, Walk" for a few weeks now. I just saw them yesterday down at Soma in San Diego, and they were AMAZING!!! So much energy and Pelle's ego just oozed out into us all!! I didn't know it was the last leg of their US tour until the last few songs, for they're flying overseas to Japan as I type this.

I usually get kinda turned off by bands who seem to work a little <i>too</i> hard on the image side of things (although I admit it's inescapable, to a point...), but The Hives seem to "play their parts" so well. So I hereby grant them an exemption. Cool band; glad they're still together.
