Musical Comedians and/or Comedic Musicians (NSFW - language)

So, I recently came across this Tim Minchin fellow who does comedy and plays piano (mostly) simultaneously. A small Sampling of his work:

I find him to be quite hilarious and often wonder why there aren't more people doing this. Then I thought that perhaps there are and I'm just bad at finding them. So TFPers what other folk are there that produce this style of comedy that you know of?

I heard this one by the musical comedian Stephen Lynch on the Halloween episode of the CBC comedy podcast:

And then there's this gem:

And, of course, there's the Flight of the Conchords (yes!)

I admit, there is a lot of bad musical comedy out there. But that just makes the good stuff stick out more.

Oh my, you've dropped into my area of expertise. But before I suggest a thousand different acts, I need to know what you like about the artist you suggested. (BTW, I'd never heard Minchin, and that first song nearly made me fall over.)

My first thoughts:
If you like piano accompaniment and complex lyrics, Tom Lehrer (a Harvard/MIT mathematics professor from the 50s/60s era).

If you like the humor to be in the music and about music, like in the first number, PDQ Bach.

If it's boobies? Well, there's no shortage of songs...

I also get a feeling of 3 Dead Trolls in a Baggie:

I also can highly suggest the podcast-delivered music from The FuMP. You can also browse through the old tracks there.

Baraka nailed those two he mentioned. Flight of the Conchords have a great TV show too. Don't think it's still churning out new episodes though. Bo Burnham anyone? Funny and good looking.

I'm sure Weird Al Yankovich is the most all-around recognizable persona of the genre (though some would argue his 'comedian' standing, which is just semantics).

Most of his catalogue is great, so go for it. ('m not going to burden the thread with more embeddable boxes.)

I've always considered The Reverend Horton Heat really damn good muscians with a great sense of humor. Muscians first, comedians second. A distant second.

For instance:

Actually, I kind of like all of those things about it. I think chiefly, for me, it's lyrical content and the novelty of the form that I find most appealing. That and the form opens itself to novel content. But all of those are varying degrees of excellent.

Another duo that I've enjoyed is Garfunkel & Oates.

My intro to them:

Zach Galifianakis has long been my favorite comedian. His standup is hilarious:

This one is from his live at the Purple Onion DVD. It's hilarious:

There's some funny shit in this thread. I was a huge fan of the Dr. Demento show back in the day. Sadly he's down to about 10 stations across the country now and the nearest to me is in Portland. No joy.

Some of my favorites from his show:

Cow Patty

One for my Canadian Bros

Who can forget Ray Stevens

Kinko the clown

Fred Blassi- Pencil Neck Geek

I don't know why, but I can't get the code from youtube to embed. The links are worth the click.
