Music Tuesday
I'm not quite sure what this is exactly because I just clicked the banner ad on Youtube that was promoting it less than 15 minutes ago. But from what I found persuing the channel's contents, and the description provided in the profile: "Check out this weekly batch of assorted new music videos, premieres, exclusives and engaging sounds that demand your attention.", it seems the channel's aim is to "promote and premiere" a new, creative batch of videos each week. A few are by mainstream artists, but the others are supplied by ordinary youtube user-submitted members; from the two or three videos I've seen, it looks interesting enough to follow for at least one day of the week. And, although I'm late to nearly every party, trend, and/or essential web service available, the content being provided weekly by the channel has begun only this past month, beginning from June 2 up to today (yesterday for the European/Asian folk). Here's three of the five videos for the week of June 30 that I enjoyed very much, in no particular order. Youtube's Preface: (The human voice takes center stage in this a cappella roundup featuring a 64-track tribute to Michael Jackson, Ben Folds' recent college covers project and a barbershop quartet from soul revivalist (and DJ) Mayor Hawthorne.) The other two featured videos for this week, which cannot be embedded: Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella! The Documentary and Mad Gregs - Safe in Sound

This week's/month's newest addition(s)
Music Tuesday This Week - Live Sessions
This week is all about live music in places other than concert halls. We've got Elvis Costello dropping by a Hollywood record store, trumpet and tuba blasting in an office, and indie guitar matched with classical strings in a student rehearsal space. These were just my favorite of the four this week; see the other video sessions in the playlist/user channel link above.

Music Tuesday - Elvis Week
(click to see the entire playlist) This week Elvis Presley is remembered throughout the world and in his hometown of Memphis, TN. In his honor, we've got some distinctly YouTube homages, including a black velvet portrait made out of cheese puffs and a fine cover by an Italian songstress. Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer and actor. A cultural icon, he is commonly known simply as Elvis and is also sometimes referred to as The King of Rock 'n' Roll or The King. Elvis Presley - Heartbreak Hotel (embedding disabled)

I'm normally pretty ambivalent to amateur youtube musicians, but I rather enjoyed that Elvis cover Long live the King!
EDIT: Ooh, she has more Elvis covers too. Glad to see there are still others out there who appreciate his greatness EDIT 2: And a video of Nel blu dipinto di blu (Volare) too?! *Subscribe*

I don't really know how to find them, or much of anything else, on youtube, so I guess I'm much the same way; I stay in my box, with my favorite videos and songs there, but I don't really know how to find "good or interesting stuff" on youtube on my own.
That's why I'm kinda glad the youtube staff decided to make this channel, at a pace in which I can enjoy. If you happened to miss the Michael Jackson week's playlist, I highly recommend the Sonos soundclip. (also the Barbershop Quartet is pretty nice as well)

Music Tuesday - Animation (click to watch the entire playlist)
This animated assortment leads off with Modest Mouse's "King Rat," a video actor Heath Ledger directed before his untimely death. Beside that video's singing whale, you'll find a Major Lazer cartoon, buzz band the Antlers and an 8-bit Lego explosion. Here are the two music videos that can be embedded within the forum; the best one to watch is the creative meticulousness of the "8-Bit Trip".

It's a Tuesday again, and this time, I actually remembered that Youtube caters to those of us in dire need of themed progressions.
This week? It's Marching Bands. Here is one of the four music videos featured; to watch the rest, simply click here.
