A snippet of a quote off Amazon:
"Their music was described to me as "mariachi polka punk" with a hint of Ian McCulloch (Echo & the Bunnymen) in the singer's voice. " My boss made me listen to this today, and I'm playing it over and over (the "how It Ends" album). It's absolutely wonderful, especially the title track. I'm actually planning to leave work today at lunch to buy the album (I won't have any time to until the weekend, and I don't want to wait that long). Apparantly they contributed to the soundtrack of "Little Miss Sunshine", so a lot of people are finding them that way. Here's the Amazon link, check out the music snippets: How It Ends by DeVotchka You can thank me later. ![]()

Yeah... these guys are amazing.
I've seen them preform a few times... seeing as how they're from Denver. The first time I saw them was a New Years Eve show... the lead singer walked out, downed a half bottle of wine... then started playing.

I found they're performing in LA next month. I'm hoping I can make it, since I won't be able to catch Amy Winehouse this Friday *shakes fist at the gods*

I haven't seen these guys yet, although i'm definitely hoping to catch them at some point. I highly suggest Beirut if you like these guys, it's not the same per se, but it's in a similar vein in that it's very ethnic sounding - despite being made by a young man from the US. The song "Post Cards from Italy" is probably one of my top tracks from last year. Check it out if you get a chance.
