Type of music I'm trying to identify

Ok guys, I heard a song tonight that was flat out awesome. It sounded a lot like New Order- Confusion from the Blade soundtrack. if any of you are familiar with that song. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of techno it is and other songs I can check out that sound like it. Thanks!

You could try Pandora at pandora.com ... I don't know if you'll find exactly the same song.

The song "New Order - Confusion (Panel Pump Reconstruction Mix)" is a great example of trance. I don't really know what's doing in trance these days--my trance phase ended a few years ago, but I can point you to some great retro stuff.

You should check out Juno Reactor (they did several songs on the Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions soundtracks, most notably "Mona Lisa Overdrive" which is on the 2004 album Labyrinth; their 2000 album Shango is a lot of fun too), Massive Attack (the 1998 album Mezzanine in particular), The Orb, Schpongle, The Chemical Brothers (I can almost guarantee you've heard their anthem "Out Of Control" from 1999), and, just for kicks, Aphex Twin.

Chemical Brothers is not trance.. not even close.

Chemical Brothers are big beat.

I thought that New Order was new wave/acid house?

True. I strayed a bit from trance in my recommendations--sort of a "if you like that, you might also like".

The tune from the Blade soundtrack is a remix.

Digitally Imported is a nice online radio station with an array of streams for those that enjoy electronica music. Their site doesn't look like much, and while they offer a premium subscription, they offer all their streams for free at a lower quality, which is still decent.

Their website can be found HERE.
