My Morning Jacket
Anyone else a fan of these guys? They just released a live CD that's great.
Jim James' voice is hard to handle for some people, but it's kinda like with the Flaming Lips and Wayne Coyne. Once you get used to his voice, it meshes really well with the sound of the band. They're somewhat similar to Built to Spill but don't really sound a whole lot like any other band I'm familiar with. http://www.myspace.com/mymorningjacket http://www.mymorningjacket.com/ Just picked up tickets to seem them at The Tabernacle in Atlanta on Nov. 12th.

I first heard of them when I saw Jim James do a solo performance along with M. Ward and Conor Oberst. I love MMJ, one of the most talented and progressive bands around these days. I saw them again at Bonnaroo this year, 3 hour and 15 minute set! It was nasty.

I recently got into this band when my brother introduced them to me. I just saw them at Clowes Hall in Indy over Thanksgiving weekend. Great show, however I thought it would have been longer, (About an hour and half). To their credit it was a benefit concert. I would like to see them again if given a chance.
