I've heard maybe 3 or 4 of their songs - my brother's a fan - and the single is the only one I liked. "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies", right? Fun, catchy tune that I don't mind hearing. Wouldn't spend any money on them, though.

Very, very catchy. My ex is a fan and talked me into downloading it. If you're into that kind of music, it's very much worth the money. Even if you're not into it that much, it's definitely worth a download. It still gets some play on my iPod.

Are they being played on top40 radio now ?!
(doesn't pay much attention to radio, mtv, etc.) They hit the scene (well, at least, in the college radio) earlier this year, Jan/Feb i think, thanks to word of mouth on myspace with the high school demographic (I suppose, because they don't have the name recognition or much favorable opinion around campus). I got around to listening a few songs on the album, I didn't find any to care about except for 'time to dance' and 'the only difference been martyrdom and suicide' [took that from chuck P, the author of survivor, who probably took that from some other pop culture reference] Those 2 songs are damn catchy, even if the band is gaudy with the long song titles and outlandish album cover.

they actually have more than one song?? The only one I hear is the same one over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...
over and over and over and over and over.. heh. I didn't much care for that song so I wouldn't waste money on them. They fall into the same category as Fall Out Boy and The Killers.. lots of hype.. and lots of crap. I remember hearing FOB live.. holy shit. It was horrible. |

I'm glad I don't watch music television of any sort (pretty sure they've all stopped playing music anyway), and I rarely listen to the radio. When I came back from the middle east this awful band was the first thing I heard in my ex's car. I'd rather listen to nothing while driving a car than listen to Panic. That's saying a lot, I get antsy when there's no background noise in my car.

There is this group of bands that are getting way more credit for what they've put out.
They've all been given so much hype for doing so little that they for some reason all think they're the love child of David Bowie and Radiohead. Which in fact none of them really need to bother with a second album or even a second single. The Killers are the proof of this. First album kicked ass. Second album they put way too much effort into and have lost touch with with everything. Someone forgot to tell these guys that if MTV thinks you're the shit... it's only gonna be for six months. If the fans and critics think you're the shit... it'll last forever.

They are catchy. Don't expect anything completely new but they have great hooks and really fun lyrics. I think that their worst song is the one played over and over on the radio. I say give them a chance.
