"Never My Love" by The Association is probably the closest thing Grancey and I have to something being "our song." Not long after we first met, we were riding together in a car and that song came on the radio and we were both singing along like the idiots we are. When they got to the refrain and actually sang the words "never my love" we both leaned over toward each other and nearly bonked heads. From that day forward, we perform the same ritual by leaning our heads together on the refrain of that song.

It's really funny if we're in different cars listening to the same station and it comes on the radio. If you were in a nearby car, you would see two people in different cars suddenly lean violently over to the side without any signal from each other and then straighten back up again, only to repeat it several more times.

First is Death Cab For Cutie's "Passenger Sear" from their album Transatlanticism (which is spectacular; filled with love and misery). Talks about the security and safety felt in the tiny insignificant moments between lovers, and how in those moments a feeling of endless joy and love can hit you. even briefly. To quote the song:

Second would be the short but emotionally charged "Fever Dream" from Sam Beam's album (also known as 'Iron & Wine') our endless numbered days. It goes:

Third is perhaps my favorite album of all time; not a huge fan of the artist in general but the album always allows me to feel some sort of release. The song "I See Monsters" by the artistically prolific Ryan Adams is perhaps the most romantic piece ever written on one of the most romantic albums ever. The peice really hits hard. The album is filled with gems like a cover of oasis' Wonderwall, Please Do not Let Me Go (a peice about broken lovers having an affair and clutching onto the only thing they feel, desperately) and English Girls Approximately (a love note... it's just a very genuine discription of a real love)

For me, we don't have one song that's "Ours" yet, but there are a handful that bring ktspktsp to mind immediately when I hear them:

Almost all of these are from the first few weeks/months of our relationship and hearing them brings back feelings from that time. And then some of them are just songs that we ended up playing over and over again during long road trips, and became favorites for both of us (he introduced me to a lot of music).
