[new music] Gnarls Barkley
Anybody heard of them?
Made up of Cee-lo and DJ Danger Mouse (best known for his work with the Gorillaz and the "Grey Album"). Sounds similar to an Outkast type of group...although much more "funkified" and soulful. Rediculous beats thanks to DJ DM. Their stuff has really begun to grow on me. "Perhaps Gnarls Barkley will never fully reveal himself. But if St. Elsewhere is any indication, his music bears Marvin Gaye’s depth of feeling, Jeff Buckley’s emotive theatrics, and wild courage not seen since Prince’s prime. Behold the most exciting debut of 2006. A psychedelic soul masterpiece. Gnarls Barkley may not be easily located, but he won’t be a stranger." Their first single, "Crazy" is at the top of the charts in Europe currently...I believe. http://www.gnarlsbarkley.com/ and http://www.myspace.com/gnarlsbarkley

Been waiting for this for a long time...I've been listening to Cee-Lo since his Goodie Mob days, been excited about everthing he's been doing since...I like it...Reminds me of his first solo CD (Cee-Lo Green and his Perfect Imperfections) which is one of the greatest funk/soul/hiphop cds ever. Can't wait. He's also got a callabo with Jazzy Pha comming out soon...Happy Hour. It'll be a club record, but you can't win em all.

I've only listened to 'crazy' and it was very good. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of it.
According to wikipedia, the album will be released on the 24th in the UK and early may in the U.S. cya

the jazzy pha collabo was supposed to be back in February, but lots of things have changed since then...so who knows...I don't even know where to find good hip hop news anymore.

I'm telling you guys, if you like this music go listen to CeeLo Green and His perfect Imperfections. The album is really good, something different and funky, would be fun to hear on 80s night in a club. Just a thought and Who Cares are two of my favs on this one. I love the creativity.

"Crazy" is a dope song, I like both Cee-Lo and DangerMouse's work (Grey Album/DangerDoom.) I think I might have to pick this album up when I get a chance.

pretty cool...not at all what i expected. Not much rap at all. More like a Moby-esque fusion of hip hop beats and classic 70's soul vocals.
