lube the chassis?
I've been changing the oil in my car for most of my adult life.
I just noticed that one of my car manuals recommends lubing the chassis, suspension, and stearing linkage every other oil change. Does anyone else do this? It looks like a pain. Is it? The car is a 1994 grand am. danka

I do it all the time....there are usually zerk style grease fitting on tie rod ends and other pivot points, all you need is a grease gun.....sucks that most really new cars don't have these fittings

If you're looking at a steering or suspension joint which doesn't have a zerk fitting, clean it off. Some fittings are tapped for the zerk fitting, but have a small hex plug in the hole instead. You can buy a package of straight, 45° and 90° fittings at an auto parts store for a few dollars-install them with a small wrench and get greasin'. If your vehicle is RWD, don't forget all of the U-joints in the driveshaft.
