Check valve, thats how mine is - and to be honest, its cleaner than a "normal" facing filter becuase gravity keeps everything in the adapter and there is almost no oil on the face of the filter. Racing technology at its best!

I'm usually in favor of function before form, but holy crap that looks like something a couple guys slapped together in their garage after a case of beer. Look at this, for instance.. I won't even mention the interior!

a couple of guys built that exhaust after a case of beer, maybe you were looking at the pic after a case, maybe it's just me but it looks fine, and the interior is great, unless you are one of the people who think it should have leather, dual climate ctrl, and other amneties.

Maybe it's just be but the big welds, exposed screws, and wavy fabric (?!) gasket makes it look rather amateurish.

As for the interior...yeah, guilty as charged.

Have you ever run side exhuast on a car ( not side pipes but side exiting exhuast)? You need to have it plated and you usually will want to run a insilator behind the exhaust plate becuase it will discolor any paint around where the exhuast comes out. Then the next logical question is how the hell are you going to attach a plate with a insolator to the body work? I know of two, rivits and screws. Screws are a hell of a lot easier to remove then rivits if you need to pull of the shell. Considering the lines of the car and what they need to do to make it functional I think they did a fine job, if you don't like thier choice of screws or the fact that welding is the best way to bond two metal surfaces then -okay- but I don't think a lot of drunk guys could have done that good.

And the interior; remember almost all racing bodies require the removal of ALL non-essensal flamable material. this would mean you are not going to have nice carpet floors and plastic trim pieces. Doing a CF dash is a great way to save weight and cut down on burnables. The cage is tight, the floor pans are well done, the dash is functional and very well laided - what else can you ask for out of a race car?

Please enlighten me on how you would make these to parts of the car "better" with out giving up any performance or functionality.

Listen, I love mustangs as much as the next guy, but it's mostly the rear wing that turns me off, it looks like an autozone purchase. plus the two tips exiting the side i've never been a fan of. I know that this is done so it doesn't have to wrap around the rear suspension. I've always been a bigger fan on the two straight tips coming out of the back.
next, color match the hood, the carbon fiber looks is cool and all but it just stands out too much. then there are the various air vents on the side. I do understand why they are there and that they aid in cooling what looks like a badass engine.
I guess my point is, muscle cars have always been known for clean lines, agressive stance, basically an overall "clean" look.


take this for example, same year and body style, but it gives a clean look as well as being very agressive looking. this is what I think a new age muscle car should look like.

That is a nice Mustang above, but the wing really is functional, and the car does have great lines, but I understand that you enjoy the more classical muscle car, I can appreciate that.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's all functional and everything it has is there for a reason. I'm just sayin', it looks like some kind of oneoff custom thing rather than a product any major automaker would ever release.

Unfortunately, that's the concept. They "dumbed it down" some for the production 2005 Mustang. I was really stoked when I sawy the new version (since I have a '96 Cobra now and have been itching to get a second Mustang), but I was a little disappointed when they released the production images. This is what the street version will look like.



And yes, the GT-R is race car, just like the previous two Mustang Rs.
