Are Veyrons actually on the market?
Or are they still just given to press and such for reviews?

I somehow expect this was not caused by the actual owner of the car....

I would guess it was an owner, someone with more money than driving skill. He probably has the money to buy another one.

To be honest, with almost 1000 hp on tap i'd probably wad the thing up too.

Veyrons have been on the market for some time now. Only about 100 (or 50?) of them are produced every year and the waiting list is miles long.

I'll second the thing that Verons have been on the market for a while. Not many are even used on the road for obvious reasons. In fact, I heard that this was the first one to crash on the street.

I don't see a million worth of damage there. I'll guess fenders aren't eighty bucks a side for a Veyron but it's still only front end. Even fifty grand would be too much.

Even if the cost to repair is only $50K the value of that car will drop significantly especially if it is the only one in production that has been wrecked. Either way, it's a shame. I'd hate to find out the owner's child took it out for a joyride and this happened.

Not $1,000,000 in damage, but I'm guessing considerably more than $50K. That front wheel is cambered way more than it should be, so there's some severe suspension damage under there. Also, the Veyron is AWD, so the driveshaft might be damaged, as well. Factor in the cost of the sheetmetal and I'd say you're into the low six-figures. Pity.

Waaaaaaaay more than $50,000 to fix. New tires and brakes at the local exotic dealership in Greensboro for their top of the line Ferrari runs around $35,000......

One of those pannels probably costs £50k, your looking at several hundred grand to repair that most likely.

It does make me laugh though.

It happened here in England, here's the reports from the BBC News site:

According to the newspapers, the owner was local businessman Kumar Soni and his younger brother was the driver. It looks like maybe the owner was unaware that his little bruv had taken his £800k toy for a spin (literally).

It could be quite a costly accident. Bugatti is producing them at a loss, supposedly over 5 million pounds a piece to make. If they charge actual cost on replacement parts they might actuall come out ahead in the long run, eh?
