When trying to write this haiku I took two approaches that led me to two very similar haikus about the same thing, but from two different perspectives. I couldn't decide which one was better, and liked them both, so I kept and named both of them.

I just found out today that the humanities for engineers program I'm in is having a poetry writing contest. I can submit any type of poem, and will be submitting multiple poems if it's allowed. I'm curious as to which ones do you guys think I should submit? Any and all feedback is much appriciated. And once again, thank you all for reading my work!

Wow i just read forgotten and it was amazing. i love those kind of storys where the maiden gets rescued by the handsom night. but never have i heard of such treachery. if i were the maiden i would be in love with you and for saving me i would devote my life to you. i hope this woman you speak of turns back to you and realizes what a great man you are. for you have both the courage, spirit and compasionto sate a million women, and you giving your heart to one is the best present you could ever give another.

Thank you, fallen_angel, for touching me with such kind words. I have learned many times, in many ways, that the world is full of treachery. But then, things are never as they appear to be. Sometimes the princess does not always wish or need to be rescued. I wish I could save a million women in circumstances like the maiden’s. But even if I only save one, it would make me the happiest man alive.

If I were you I would think about submitting something with a little age on it. In Candlelight is one of my favorites that you've posted here on this board. If you choose something that's been around for a bit, you'll at least know whether or not you like the piece, and if you've needed to brush up any lines.
On the other hand, especially if you can submit multiple poems, I would consider several of the haikus. Wood's Words and Dreamy Memories are my favorites, but submit which ever you like best. Best of luck!

In regards to "Nothing Can Change," I have only heard the story through word of mouth. But from what I have heard, the one who said such bitter words had no right to make the accusations made.
Minyn, from meeting you myself, I know that the unkind words said about you are completly false.

Thank You all for your kind comments. They mean so much to me. I am thankful that I have this community to share what I write on the little bits of free time I somehow manage to scrounge up.
What matters the most in life is the ways in which we touch others'. This is just another way for me to touch others' lives in what I hope is a positive manor. Thanks again for taking a few minutes of your precious time to read my work.

Ive read all of your work, and felt that I had to post.. All your poems are strikingly beautifull, yet at the same time I feel like a voyeur reading them. They are powerful glipses into yourself..
I wish I could write here what I truly mean, and dedicate as I truly would.. but obfuscation is a gift not easily thrown away thanks for the poems

Keep strong by your faith, my friend - it is all too often in the times of despair that we find beauty all around us. I hope that you find peace and joy in this quiet solitude that you have been given.

Poetry Contest Update:
My poem, Affairs of Dragons and Wizards, was one of the winners for the best Reflective Poem category in the Herbst Program of Humanities poetry contest, and was announced today at an e-days kickoff reception. One of my other poems would have won another category (I think it was a Haiku... that will be verified later) but they were only allowing each person to win in one category, thus not letting me win in multiple categories. Also, I apologize for not posting any poems or other works here in a while. I have been busy with other things. Hopefully soon I will write some more to share with you guys.

And now, another haiku. It's been a while since I've had any modivation to write anything more that's ended up being worth keeping. Tonight I wrote this one while at fencing, and thought it worth sharing. Betrayed < Removed >

Been a while since I've written anything worth keeping or sharing. Been spending more time thinking about some changes I might make to previous pieces to make them better. But I thought of this while at work and had to write it down.

I would like to contribute more to my literature thread than I have been recently, but I've had a bit of writter's block. Sorry. Hopefully it will end soon and I'll be able to get back to sharing my work!
