Where to wear the man rings?
So I was shopping today and I sort of impluse bought some man rings. I was actually looking for index finger and thumb but my thumbs' joints are too wide for even the biggest ring, so I had to settle for two other fingers. I thought two rings, one black and one white would look neat however I'm torn where to wear them...so I'm asking for your opinion! Don't be afraid to tell me neither, I got 'em cheap and it's not going to hurt my feelings. Pics below:
One hand: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7...to267td.th.jpg Or two: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7...to251ta.th.jpg http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1...to276vc.th.jpg |
I would say wear them however you want on your hands, but I have to admit that on your pointer finger (whatever it's called) they look dumb. Would look much better on a non-primary finger
|
I'm a traditionalist... I don't like rings on any finger but the ring finger-- i just think it looks silly...
though those rings are cool looking - (and your face in the background is adorable :) |
I see one is on your middle finger...can you get both of them on a middle finger? I think one on each would look the best.
BTW..I like it when men wear rings. I just agree with whoever said that the first finger isn't the best for them. |
I wear mine on the ring finger, generally. If I have one ring, on the left hand. On the rare occasion that I have two, on the ring finger of both hands.
There's something to be said for pinkie ring, too, and I have occasionally worn one. I agree that they do look odd on the forefinger (index finger). Basically, keeping rings on the pinkie and ring finger keep them out of the way of the part of the hand that does most of the work: the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger. |

I like that much better, VitaminH

Stick with the two middles. I actually only wear mine on the middle fingers and everyone tells me my jewelry isn't "girly enough".
I used to steal my guy friend's rings all the time. Celtic knots... make great rings on my big toes. But now they don't fit anywhere. He wore one his right thumb and one on left middle finger. I thought they looked better on both middles for him, too. |
I wear a silver band that has a piece that can be taken out on my right thumb. It's worn whenever I feel life it, and it's sort of my good luck charm for midterms/exams.
If I get any other rings, they'll probably go on the ring fingers of each hand. So my opinion, is ring fingers and/or thumb. |
I say either just wear one on the ring finger of your right hand or you can wear both with one on each middle finger. The reason I say not to on the ring finger of your left hand is because that's usually reserved for a wedding ring. I know I'm silly when it comes to that. I used to wear a ring on that finger before I got married when I didn't want to be bothered with guys, or at least the guys that care that a woman is married.
Anyway, wear them how they make you happy. That's what jewlery is for. :D |
I prefer asymmetry when it comes to hand jewellery, so I think the first pic is the best.
|
And you could wear one on the ring finger of the non-married hand (lol), the left, and one on the middle finger of the right. Another instance of non-symmetry.
|
I'd do both on the same hand, one on the middle and one on the ring finger (the right hand I guess, to avoid MARITAL CONFUSION).
|
It doesn't appear any of the "neithers" are posting. I would like to hear your opinions as well, although I guess you could just think they look bad...
|
i'm a neither. but that's just for me.
i don't do any kind of jewelry. i say wear 'em however the fuck you like. i know that doesn't help. and i'm not sayin' this to be mean, i don't want it to come off wrong, but if you're wondering which is "cooler" it doesn't matter. you're cool with or without the rings. or you're not, and no ring will help. me, i think you're cool. :) |
In OP I like the first, "one hand" the best. As far as if you should wear them at all? It's hard to say, I'd need to know you in real life.
Edit: After looking at the results I'm a little surprised how many people think you shouldn't wear them. I've never been one for jewelry myself, but because of martial arts and I've never gotten used to something on me like that (the feeling just bugs me.) I wonder if most people have the same feeling about necklaces on guys? Theres got to be a post around here somewhere on necklaces on guys. And what about bracelets? |
Put the black one on your right hand ring finger.
The white one can be given to your greatest foe and the battle of heaven and hell will commence! |

Haha, I like that, or just wear one and say "my nemisis wears the white (or black if you wear white) one." |
i wear mine on my ring fingers and my pinkies. i tend to either have 3 or 4 on depending on my mood.

I wish I had a mortal enemy. |
I can be your mortal enemy. Our disperate locations means it's unlikely we'll ever cause each other damage. We'll have to find some ground on which to disagree.
I think hats are stupid! |
I think hats are awesome! Who gets to wear the black ring and who gets to wear the white?
|
There can be only one!!!!!!!
Don't worry about sending any messages about being married... I've worn a ring on my "wedding ring" finger, of and on for years before and after getting married. |
You know, I didn't open this thread for a while until I realized it was in "General Discussion" and not "Sexuality" since I am, after all, at work...
I like one on each hand, not the same fingers - but one of them the middle finger. :) Unless you're going with the mortal enemy thing, in which case, the black on on the right middle finger. Why not? |

Yeah, don't worry. I could care less about which was "cooler". You've really got to know me but I'm rather rabid about not giving a crap about what happens to be "coolest" at the moment. I bought them because I thought they were cool, and that's about all that matters. I was just curious as to other people's opinions about the positioning of them. Thanks, however, for giving your opinion. It is much appreacited. :) And you're cool too :) Oh, and the mortal enemy thing is great. Maybe I'll do just that, as soon as I find one of those...heh :) |

You can start small by competing for barstools and work your way up to the entire inebriation inducing universe! (a.k.a. bar) |
^I don't get it. My hat must be blocking the oxygen flow to my brain. Anyways, I call dibs on the black ring! Bwahaha!
|
Hi, I'm a neither. I don't think it looks stupid but personally I don't like it. It doesn't look right - to me. I don't like rings on women very much either unless they're simple. Perhaps thats it - I like things simple and rings, plural, is too many and too adorned and fussy. They are also useless and get in the way. In terms of attractiveness, it does nothing for me, exactly the opposite.

Nah, pub brawls aren't epic enough. Besides, I think it'll be a fairly platonic hostile relationship. It's not like either of us will cross the Atlantic just to beat the crap out of the other. ;)
|
There would be too much to see and do.
|
So, what did you decide on, VitaminH?
|
What is a man ring and how does it differ from a woman ring (as I assume there is one)?
