Mothers Day (and a half!)
OK, it's Mothers Day in the Uk on Sunday 21st. March. I have a question, but I need to give you the basic details first.
My Mother-in-Law is in a hospice at the moment. Nobody expects her to be here in a couple of weeks. She is a very sick lady. My wife is doing the best that she can to keep it together. She has to, her younger Sister has gone to pieces and has been prescribed sedatives!. My Wife is a childminder. So along with our own kids, she is being kept pretty busy at the moment. I'm doing all that I can once I'm home from work. It's a crazy time in our house at the moment! The thing is, I want to get her something for Mothers Day other than the usual flowers and boring shit, just to let her know that I think she's a rock. Not just now, but all the time I've been married to her (16 years) she's been an incredibly strong person. Time isn't exactly on my side. I need to get something by the weekend. I've got a few ideas, but I thought that I could throw it over to you guys to see if you have any ideas. Thanks for listening. fatboss. |
If she is as busy and stressed out as you say, I think dinner in a nice resturant and a day at a spa (long soak, massage, mud bath... the whole works) might be nice. Give her something that will let her relax for a few hours.

Maybe do somthing creative with family pics. Frame a collage that you & the kids put together. Otherwise "dimonds are a girls best friend"

fatboss,
What ever you get her, make sure she hears the sentiment that you just shared with us. It's always good to know that your effort is appreciated by your spouse! |
OK, just to update you.
There was something I forgot to mention (!) My wife has lost over 5 stone over the last 12 months (weight watchers) and she looks fantastic for it. Her self confidence is bubbling at the moment. This is probably helping her to cope with the current situation. She's started a course of sunbed treatment(?) and yesterday she walked in with her eyebrows nicely shaped. It's fair to say she's looking quite hot at the moment  So as well as the flowers and cards from the kids, I think I'll treat her to a facial and all the works (not that type!) at the place that did her brows. Thanks for listening. Watch this space. |
